To be perfectly frank, I don't care who a player has played for. If he wears the Spurs shirt, so long as he gives 100% then I will be pleased. I can see him being a squad player. A replacement for Zokora. Still has the legs and most importantly the mind and experience. Not bad for 12 months.

Thing is, does he still have the legs? If he did, wouldn't Mourinho have kept him at Inter?

well i for 1 would be pleased, forget the arsenal stuff as that is in the pass. He will be out to prove a point being a world cup year so we have nothing to lose and lets be honest he is better than Zokora.

i don't no, it'll be a good thing for wilson to learn from an experienced center mid like viera BUT having said that the lad has past his best and hasn't played many games at his age stephen appiah would have been a better option.

He was a great player for the scum,but has time moved on and can he still cut it in the prem.I have no idea how he has performed in Italy but i have my suspicions that he would only come to us to aid his chance of a last chance of selection in international football. I am uneasy about his motives,as well as his wanting to play for Spurs as an ex gooner.I am still to be convinced this story is anything more than a story made up by bored journalists,we shall see.

He's a professional, and a top player with fantastic experience.

Is he the player he once was? No
Is it likely that he'll suffer with injuries this year? Yes

Neither of that changes the fact that we have a great crop of young players coming through, all of who could learn tremendously from one of the best midfielders of his generation.

Plus, he's got the stomach for a fight. WIth Wilson or JJ alongside (or both in a 4-3-3) you'd have plenty of leg work to compliment his experience and leadership, something we've badly lacked

He will add great mental strength to our team, Davids was 33 as well and 2 seasons he added more than Bentley,Zokora,Dos Santos etc added all together..Vieira will be a great personality in the dressing room,specialy for the young players..Stop being too narrow minded..

Would be a very interesting signing, as I have said on many forums. He has a wealth of experience he could pass on to our younger players as well as the first team. His arrival could potentially push us up a couple more places... which would be something as I had us down as finishing 7th this coming season.

If you remember correctly though, Arsenal were down to 9 men when Palacios put in that wonder performance.

We all get a bit caught up in the tribal warfare.
I loathe the Scum, but to Vieira and many others it is just another Prem team.
He is undoubtedly past his best but has huge experience and could anchor (yes, anchor!) the midfield while Willie P pushes on.
Don't forget that he was the attacking CM at wigan whilst Cattermole played the defensive role.
Could be a neat move, if only in the relatively short term.
The real trick is to balance our investment between proven campaigners and top young talent.
We are working really hard on the latter - Alex Inglethorpe & Clive Allen's talents are close to paying big dividends - but we have 1-2 years "gap" before the Parretts, Roses, Archibald-Henvilles, etc make it through to the starting squad.
Let's trust in Harry and hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised.

I dont mind if we snap up Vieria however if he comes i can only see him being on the bench because we have an excelent player in wilson palacios.And i think we should look to are left sign and maby sign Maxi Rodriguez or even Arjen Robben

Unfortunately Spurs appear to be making no progress so far this summer. Wasting time on 'business deals' such as those for kyle and kyle from sheff utd are far from the priorities of a target man and left winger which are so urgently required.
Vieria would be good for the tuition of palacios and huddlestone as beckham would be for lennon.

I was very happy with the team at the end of last season and we really dont need any major tinkering. The nucleus is there so its over to Harry & his team to coach, motivate and demand success in every match we play. On our day we all know that we can compete with the very best.It's all about mentality & having the sheer determination to WIN!!!

viera will be a good partnership with sgt Wilson in CM. I will not verbally abuse veira for his unfortunate links the the grubby lot down the road, But what i wil do is give him the chance to win me over with some of his legendary commanding displays in midfield. If he shows his commitment on the pitch then im sure ALL true spurs fans will get behind him.

Viera is a very poor player who has made very little impact in nearly 4 years.The italian league is much less physical than then PL, so why on earth would he be a good signing. Everyone who is talking him up only remember him from his time with the filth. Things change,people get older and as he is highly injury prone so i really cant see the value in all of this. Anyway my bet is that some filth bag somewhere in finsbury park is laughing his bollox off to the 'story' that he created as all the yids flap about. I think im going to post a blog on the filths sites with a headline " Sherringham completes shock transfer".

1. harry has a proven track record of signing players that are gettin to the end of their carrers and gettin the best out of them
2. he will have similar effect as davids but better vieira is a world cup winner euro winner and would be brillaint with palacious
3. he is an excellent player and a huge presence to have in the team
4. the look on arsenal fans faces if their former captain signs for us and helps us to a good finish hopefully gettin a league win over them in the process
5. him being sold was the reason arsenal have been on a decline since the invincables season and they havent really had a player like him since im certain that some of them regret he was ever sold in the first place

The soul of tottenham hotspur our great club is being eroded. Re-signing keane was bad enough this will be the final straw if true.
I trust that our chairman has enough pride to veto any interest that harry may have in this player.

We need to look at the all the good things we could get out of having a player like Vieira on our books.

Everyone seems to be missing the point that Viera has been sh*t since he left the scum. All these comments about him being quality it is obvious that none of you seen him play for the last few seasons. He is struggling to play in a weaker league than the EPL. 1) Davids was played out of position on the left with Carrick and Jenas preferred centrally. you can forgive him for looking 'average' - dont forget we only missed CL on final match of season!

2) if Vieria was to only play 19 league matches (away) alongside Palacios we could sneak a CL place. no Europe distraction this season (remember 2005/06)

and if Huddlestone shows no improvement after a season training with a player that has been a champion at 3 different clubs, they can both F*ck off next summer

Probably shrewd from a footballing and squad point of view. Look at Davids, he came in at the same age and in that 1st season we missed the top 4 by ONE point and i put a lot of that down to Edgar. Yes we had Carrick too but i've never seen Jenas or Lennon work quite as hard or look quite as comitted after he left. Some players need a kick up the butt to keep them going and an older influential player who's a 100 percent commited pro can be worth two young over-rated prima donnas... That's why Keane is also more than just a striker. However, Viera's an ex-Goon so i wouldn't touch him with a smelly stick. Look elswhere Harry.

i think a good signing as wilson would benefit from this but also would the youngsters like bostock and rose maybe help them acheive there first team status so we can have a few youngsters coming through that are actually quaity plus he would help the dfence he is a vital player good everywhere would be great at spurs 4get bout the gooners shit

Three ways in: League, FA Cp or Carling Cup. We must be competitive in all three. The EPL looks tougher each year at the top, and with Citeh buying up all nad sundry, the top 4 now become the top 5. So, are we ready to challenge for a Campions spot aginst them? I say no, and that leaves us just 6th otr possibly 7th spot for Euro League. Vieira will pad out the squad, help along the youngsters, provide cover for the def MF and round everything up nicely to be able to compete in all three comps.

harry knows what a impact he will have on our young players and hope they can learn a few things in the process .

Do I feel comfortable with the ex Goon in the team? NO

Would he be a good addition to the playing sqaud? Yes I think so if the price is right.

Would a world cup winner, Prem winner, League winner and model midfielder be a postive influence on Thudd. Palacios and Jenas?
Putting my predjudice aside, I expect he could help our players develop.

If he is fit and still has an engine, he could add solidity to a midfield that was often overrun last season.
