Actually I don't see any serious evidence that Ashley Young is going anywhere. Who are these Villa "in the know" exactly?? I seem to recall Martin O'Neill calling Young "a genius" and "world class" and slapping an over the top £75mil valuation, signalling that if anyone were to try and buy one of our best players O'Neill would be quite willing to for another "Barrygate" saga. Added to the fact Young signed a 4 or 5 year deal last season and it suggests Young is going nowhere, and all this talk in the papers and internet is nothing more than ludicrous SPECULATION!!

Any rumours re Young are purely speculation by London based media trying to make stories happen. Chelsea have not bid and they're never shy about registering their interest. Young will be with us until next summer at least where our league position could persuade him to stay for longer.

It's highly unlikely that villa, without barry and a couple of trusty centre backs plus an out of form striker in agbonlahor, a rapidly ageing heskey and 2 left mids will struggle to keep up their current run of good prem finishes.

Developing well under the watchful eye of John Robertson, his partner and three children settled, a club that adores him, fans that adore him. Villa fan, season ticket holder laughing my arse off at comments on here. Fact - Young was poor second half of last season after his sending off suspension. Decent defenders have sussed out the turning on to the right foot thing he does. Other teams have also started doubling up on him which he also can't handle. His bubble has burst (limited international time on pitch is for a reason). This leaves 2 options. Either Young has to now step up another couple of levels and prove the world class tag MON put on him or he stays as he is and Villa cash in. I would certainly take £30m for him or player plus cash. Some of Spurs so called 'rejects' I would take as they will arrive with fire in their belly's and a big point to prove, would prefer Joe Cole and cash from Chelsea though. Another Villa fan here....rather more heat than light on this blog today isn't there! I've nothing against Spurs (apart from the constant mentions from the Radio 5 spurs fans and your manager)and think that our two clubs are probably of similar stature. I reckon we're both capable of taking the next step up at the expense of one of the 'big 4' over the next 4 or 5 years, particularly when one of the 4 collapses financially. I do think the Young to Spurs link is cheap journalism though. MoN has said he won't sell to a non CL club and I can't see him going back on that. Given £30m though I'd be very tempted to let him go to say Chelsea provided the money is spent on new players during this transfer window
