Spurs bid £15 million for Robbie Keane

According to BBC's Fivelive, Tottenham Hotspur have bid £15 million to take back Robbie Keane from his Liverpool hell.

Our stance on this is why on earth would we want to spend £15 million on a player that can't fit into our playing system, especially after bringing back Defoe? We all know that they can't play together, so why not use those funds on bringing in a left winger and a proper left back?

Does our club have more money than sense?

  1. I dont give a shit anymore as to wether or not he can or cannot play with defoe...we're in serious trouble and he could be the man to get us out of it. In our position you cannot afford to be pickey (is that a word?..and no, I wasnt calling robbie keane a pikey either!!)
  2. it doesnt matter who we are signing, 15m is the going rate , God forbid we sing Appiah for free !!
  3. Get him back as quickly as possible. If I'm honest I'd rather have him than Modric in our current position. Modric is to lightweight for a relegation scrap but get to the top 10 and he will be a different player. GET KEANE NOW!!!

    Why do we not sign anyone for under £15 million?

    As most of you know, I was dead against us signing Downing for £15 million, but to be honest, I'd rather bring in Downing for that fee rather than bring back Keane.

    Let's remember, he's at the wrong end of his thirties!

    We'll only ever get loan deals done if they cost £15 million a piece!!!
  7. Not sure whether it is good value rescueing him when he was the one who wanted to leave in the first place. Surely there's other players out there that are younger, cheaper and show more potential?.....and why the f*ck are we getting rid of Gio?

We have been lacking some creativity as well as some steel. keane gives us a different option up front and i would be pleased to bring him back and play 3 up front where Keane can bring other players in the gamee, play 3 in midfield and use lennon as an impact player. Palacios, Modric, jenas, Huddlestone, Zokora, O'hara are our options there and all have something different to offer and with some competition there may just perform better.

  14. The last we read on a few forums (normally very unreliable sources of info) was that we would sign Appiah on a pay-as-you-play contract until the end of this year.

    We should have signed zakora on a pay as you score goals contract.
  16. If you think O'Hara is the answer then God help us. He'll be our main man in the Championship when all the so called superstars leave but not now.
  17. Gio and Modric are not suitable neither for English League nor for English weather.

    Keane`s style of football suits Spurs because we play with wingers and also he was our link man and since he went we struggles to move the ball from midfield to forward.

    He will get the best out of Pavlyuchenko as well..I am struggling though when defoe is back how we are going to accomodate them together.

    I can see Moric being sold to a serie A club in the summer for £25 million, Giovanni as much as never had a chance to prove himself on the LEFT WING i dont think is strong enough.

    Keane on his own will not be enough, we URGENTLY NEED a LEFT FULL BACK.

    Assou Ekotto is better as a Left winger, GET A LEFT FULL BACK PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HR.

  20. Ardiles and Villa were MEN...How many of those apart from Woodgate,King,Chimbonda and alike we have in the team you tell me.

    We need grown up players with PERSONALITY..Unlike i can not Follow my man Dawson etc.

    Gio and Modric needs leaders in the team to play alongside..Zokora is hardly the player you will be looking up to.

  22. Agree to disagree with you about Gio and Modric. I mean, take Messi for example, he's hardly a man mountain and yet if he was offered to us, we'd snap their hands off!

    However, I agree with you about Zokora. I think that Veloso would be a better player for us in the middle. Get him and ship Zok out.

  26. Appiah`s last club Fenerbache apparently took him to FIFA and FIFA decided in their favour, so there might be a fee involved now..

  32. As much as it pains meto say it.......but maybe Keane is the man to scrap us out of this relagation dogfight.......i do wonder if he will sign or it will be a loan (can he be loaned back?) and if he signs what will he say on his first interview.....i think it will go something like.........

    "I was misquoted as saying liverpool was my boyhood club i never wanted to leave i love it here"

    well i couldnt give a flying shit as long as we dont go down, i mean we all knew that letting defoe go was a mistake and 90% of us think steeeeeeed shouldnt have been sold and ok tainio wasnt the most gifted but fxxk me he was ten times the player zakora will ever be and he gave his all for the cause,
