Spurs 1-2 Sunderland - Match Analysis

When I got out of bed this morning, I was buzzing. On the way to The Lane, I met a lot of other buzzing Spurs fans.

I'm not buzzing now. We lost today in the same fashion that we did against Boro last week.

Bent played up on his own and was anonymous, as were most of our players up until Sunderland scored.

Jenas, who must have been instructed by Ramos to play as a holding midfielder, just wasn't up to it.

He gave the ball away outside our penalty area, which allowed Kieran Richardson to capitalise on the error with a stunning shot.

After the goal went in, Ramos changed the system, bringing on Giovani and playing what seemed to be a 5-3-1-1 system.
Our spirits were raised and we got a goal back. Ironically, it was Jenas that struck, after Modric ran into the Sunderland penalty area and shot twice, only for both his shots to have been blocked and palmed away, into the path of Jenas.

Just like all the false dawns that have been heaped on us, this mini revival was most certainly another dawn of false hopes and dreams.

Again, our inept midfield, a midfield that lacked just about everything, was shown wanting.

A cross from the left was not caught by Gomes and Cisse was there to score from a header.

Everyone around me booed. And to be honest, it was well deserved!

Absolutely shocking from Spurs.

No heart, no muscle, and completely clueless!
