Good luck Younes

We would like to wish Younes Kaboul the best of luck at his new club Portsmouth.

I feel that we didn't see the best of him at Spurs, as it was his first season and maybe the lad needed more time to bed in.

  1. I am quite gutted by the sale of Kaboul, i may be in a minority but i genuinely believe that he has a lot potential. Unfortunately for us Portsmouth will probably see the benefits and not us. Just like Defoe, Harry Redknapp has pulled another one out of the bag (on the cheap) at our expense and just like Defoe this may come back and bite us on the Arse?
  2. Pity. He has all the attributes to be a very good defender. He's quick, strong, good in the air and can actually play football. He was just guilty of making bad decisions, but I don't doubt that once he sorts that out he'll be a very good player.
  3. he's not consistent enough he may have potential but that's not what we need at the moment, we need quality defenders for the squad and he cant defend it's a good deal in my eyes
  4. Fadi I would not say your inthe minority at all. I was really dissappointed to see Kaboul leave. Personally I though he could have filled that dmc role that (i think) we need to fill. I have no idea why he wasn't given more of an opportunity (apart from the fact he stupidly outspoke about not being played). He was massive, good tackler and had a fantastic shot - remember that thumper against villa. Unfortunately his consenration sometimes went away. For CB in the premiership you need to be disciplined - he was not. But I don't see why he couldn't have done a midfield job for us. I can tell you one thing for certain - he definitely would not have lost the ball on his little runs as many times as Zokora.

  5. I agree with the above comments also. The thing is, he wouldn't have got a look in, especially after slagging of Ramos and claiming that it was Jol's team that won the Carling cup.

    After his obvious fall out with Ramos, there was no way back. Ramos is a bit of a Fergie in those situations, which is good imo.

  7. Hi. I'm a Pompey fan and I can honestly say that I speak for a lot of other Pompey fans.

    We can't seem to understand why Harry has gone for Younes?
    We don't need another centre-half.

    He won't play in midfield either.

    We do trust Harry though and so believe that we have signed a player that will hopefully flourish. I just can't see it at the moment.

  9. The bloke was and is a liability. In 21 starts we won just 5 times. We conceded 36 goals. He cannot defend, which is a touch of a handicap when you are a defender. We do not have the time for him to make the rake of mistakes it will take before he learns. And with his form as above, he did not consider that he had to improve and knuckle down, he chose to slag the Gaffer off in the press. Good ridance to bad rubbish, it was the right decision to sell him. The only mystery to me is how we managed to get £6m+ back for him.
