COYS!!!

I, along with a numerous amount of away Spurs fans watched the debacle at the Riverside.

"What's Ramos doing?" shouted a gentleman called Tom who sat behind me.

"I can't believe that we're playing this rubbish?", screamed another.

To be honest, yesterdays performance was anything but what any of us had come to expect.

Pre-season always takes our hopes to levels that are just not comparable with Premier League standards.

I read reports and also witnessed our captain, Ledley King, on Spurs TV state, that "this squad of players is capable of Champions League qualification".

Oh I wish these players didn't say such things! Don't they realise that talk like that only propels expectation? Expectation that they cannot achieve just yet?!

I honestly expect us to finish 6th and I have done even before our first defeat of the season, as have many other fans, according to what was discussed between us at Boro yesterday.

If anyone has dreams of us finishing in 4th, then I hope you don't get too disillusioned when we don't.

Tottenham Hotspur is a work in progress. For us to even contemplate finishing fourth, we'll need a good two seasons at least of hard work and a few more quality signings over that period.

Ramos & co are not magicians. The clubs' management realise what needs to be done and they are making the changes needed. These changes won't happen over night though.

I couldn't believe it when I read some of the comments on THBN. Comments like;

-"Relegation form since the cup win"

-"Sack Ramos now"

And so the comments went on and on.

What we all need to do is calm down.

If we keep changing managers, what does that actually achieve? Absolutely nothing!

The new foreign players need time to adjust to the pace of the league. And by the look of things, so does the entire team.

I am sure Ramos & co have seen the need of a better defensive midfield player and a better centre-back than Dawson. Unfortunately, these players don't grow on trees!

All of us need to settle down a notch and get behind the team, your team, your Tottenham Hotspur!

  1. Could not agree more. The journey home was long yesterday but but we were the better side without a doubt. People seem to forget that Ramos is still new to the league and english football. It was a disgrace yetsterday as spurs fans booed Berbatov. He is still currently a tottenham player and so should be treated as such. I would live him to stay at the lane and booing him is not going to make hims stay.

  6. Yeah disappointed as usual, but another opening day up in the North-East, while the gooners have a homer against the promoted sides, is the prem having a laugh? Still, lets wait till October before we see how the season will shape up! If we do not win 3 from the next 5, then another cup team in progress. But what the f%*k are we doing leaving King and Berba, (regardless of coming or going, you use what you have,) on the bench? We still have never replaced McKay, when are we going to learn and get our heads out of the clouds, you have to fight for the right to party! COYS!
  7. the side will settle and improve given time but there are two glaring issues that need addressing - 1: a dm to win possession and free modric up to play further forward where he would prefer to be,is more dangerous and can give bent the type of service he needs 2: a faster player alongside woody - if ledley is not going to be regular this is urgent as dawson is no better thanemergency cover - he is too slow, loses conventration and positioning - gets beaten too easily by better strikers, ec.
  8. Yes agree with what you all are saying (except smith?!!)just a bit worried about talk of owen coming -great player about 5yrs ago what we need is the dm-Alonso would do for me with Corluka at CH these must be signed then add Hunterlarr or cruz or ashton .

  10. Dont see why you cant understand the sack Ramos and relegation form comments. Do you think his selections and tactics warrant (barring Scolari I'm guessing) the best manager wage in the world most expensive league - I think not. When we pay someone over 70k a week to manage the likes of Berbatov, King, Modric, Woodgate, Bale, Bentley - great players, and he gets thrashed 4-1 at by a poor newcastle side and the likes of Birmingham - then he's hard;y as good as a top 4 manager, and if he isn't has good has them, then he has to go, because the fact is our manager has to be better than them, to warrant his wage and to get more out of a group of players that aren't as good as top 4 teams, to enable us to finish above of them. Other wise, for 70k a week, he's no better than Jol, Hoddle, Graham, Gross or Francis.
  11. people people, in the words of our scouse friends calm down! Boro away wasn't going to be an easy first fixture. Dont get me wrong I like many yids' have had my weekend ruined by this, my wife and kids have had to endure a pissed off husband and father, but coming back down to reality players will take a bit of time to get used to the premier league, we will be adding to the squad with 2-3 new players (considering he has not given many players a squad number) a few weeks back fans were hailing Ramos et al, now they want him gone. This sort of fical crap gives us spurs fans a bad name. Yes we should expect more out of our glorious team, but by the same token Rome wasn't built in a day.
  12. Admittedly Ramos needs time and it's far too soon to be talking about sacking.
    But the same cliche comments about more time were rolled out when Jol got found out. It was hanging on to a non-winner like him for so long that opened Berbatov's eyes as to how behind Spurs were in matching his ambitions.
    If Ramos doesn't start sorting out the glaringly obvious holes in our game/team soon, we have every damn right to bring the jury out or should we just hang on until we're dead certain he can't cut it and then moan when our best players look elsewhere and who can blame them.
  13. No one should be mentioning the "S" word at all. It houldn't even be a consideration. An opening game at Boro is pretty tough for new players and what is a new side. 400 mile round trip. Tough team to beat at home. I bet the top four bare no better on their travels to the riverside. A home team who were massively up for it. Expect the same for us against Sunderland next week. The passing was there, the movement was there, but it will take time. Anyone expecting a top 4 finish this season needs to cool down. COYS!!

    He cant shoot, pass, tackle, or head . He does the occasional mad run up the pitch, which comes to nothing. I pray for the African Nations Cup, can it not be annually ?

    BAE, the last time I saw him in the flesh was in the first NLD at the effeminates, he was taken off after half an hour , to save him from further punishment.

    All good players in their own right, however not an arsehole between them.

    Now , allegedly, we are after Arshavin, another 'pretty' attacking midfielder.

    A front two of Kris Akabusi, ( aka Darren Bent) and Dos Santos.

    I am far from being a rocket scientist, but this result was very predictable.

    Where are the winners ( the talisman has gone to Liverpool ), where are the seasoned pros ?

    We are lightweight.

    If Ramos persists with this team at Hull , Bolton, Blackburn, Sunderland, etc we will get the same.

  15. listen im a gooner and im gonna be honest with you lot ,you have good players,but they dont have experience of playing together,also a new system is being played so even the players who have been at spurs for years are back learning again ,give it 10 games i think you can come in anywhere between 5th and 7th this season! does mr ramos speak english ? thats another important thing because he has to be able to keep his english guys impressed with his way of managing because they control the dressing room! give it 10 games and things will be clearer,i know 10 games is a lot of points but its a whole new set up,this is possibly just a snag!

    We all need a big reality check.

    I spoke to Chris while he was at the game and all he said was that there were a lot of fans calling for Ramos' head.

    What planks! Give the guy time. In fact, give him a full season. Is finishing 6th really that bad?

    We will build each season. If we fail to buy a commanding central defensive midfielder now, we will next season.

    All of us need to be a little more patient.

    If I were Levy, would I sack Ramos if we finished the season in 6th or 7th position? No way.

    Every time you sack a manager, you have to find a new one. Once you've found him, he then wants to bring in his own back room staff and players. That new manager may also take the same amount of time as Ramos has taken in trying to bed in his strategies.

    What then? Sack him too?

    Come on guy's, we all need
    to calm down and take a chill-pill, apart from Mr. David Smith, who I fear needs another type of pill.
