Signing Bent may spell the end for Defoe


With the impending arrival of Darren Bent, Jermain Defoe's future at Tottenham Hotspur looks bleak.


The Daily Mail has reported that the Charlton striker will join Spurs in a £14 million deal within the next 48 hours. The club already has Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe and Mido as its current strike force.


As reported in an earlier article on THBN, Mido will be on his way shortly, with Birmingham being his likely destination.


Would it be wise to keep Defoe at the club with the imminent arrival of Bent? Would you like to see Defoe and Bent in the starting lineup together (if Keane & Berbatov were rested)?


Do you think that spending in the region of £14 million on a striker of Bent's capabilities is wise?

    The imminent signings of Berbatovs new contract and Kaboul seem waaay longer than 48 hours ago.

    Still, what more can we expect from a bunch that cant afford to pay a tenner a year for a domain and site and that went missing for 2 years. . .

  9. I'm greedy yid. I want Berba, Keano, Defoe and Bent. We WILL play 65 games next season and I demand to have 2 starting and 2 on the bench in both the FA and EUFA Cup finals next May. All 4 can start 35 games each in various pairings and we will keep the opposition guessing until the last minute about which lethal combo will be putting the ball in their net today.   16. Such a load of rubbish. Bent wont sign for us and if for some strange reason he does we are getting ripped off. We only payed 10.7 million for super berbatov so bent is certianley not worth £14 million.

  20. general opinion is the site is not great, but by running a functioning site as a business, you are able to claim expenses, season ticket, travel etc as a legitimate tax allowance

  22. itll be great if defoe stayed, but bent seems to much for what he can offer. our midfield needs stengthening, and keeping mido would be the bes choice. I believe hes still good. give him a chance
  23. bent would be one of the two tall strikers which Jol likes to have, the two small would be Deane & Defoe. This means Mido to leave. Otherwise we'd end up with 3 tall and 1 small.
