Tottenham's Interest In Pedersen Grows


THBN can report that Martin Jol is definitely interested in signing Blackburn’s talisman, Morten Gamst Pedersen. Gossip surrounding an imminent purchase of the player has been circulating for some time now. We can confirm that discussions between the two clubs are in process. We cannot state if the player is interested in a move to White Hart Lane though.

The £10 million figure that has been suggested is mere paper talk. THBN has been informed that Blackburn would like to receive in the region of £8 million for the player. As of yet, we are unaware if Tottenham Hotspur has agreed to this fee. Some sources close to us, but not affiliated with THBN, have stated that the Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, values Pedersen at £6 million and may offer that as an initial fee with a further £3 million based on the clubs progression with Pedersen.

    we desperately need a left sided mildfield player and pedersen is quality and proven in the premiership.

    i like the thought of bale and pedersen going down the left and chimbonda and lennon going down the right.

  4. good signing if he doesn't cost too much - £8mil is a lot of money for a player who reportedly drifts out of games though.

    having said that - anyone from abroad would take time to adjust whereas mgp could hit the ground running.

  6. archibaldsteve: Petrov has spent the majority of the last 2 seasons injured. Comments from other forums suggest his form at best is inconsistent. Pedersen is worth buying at £8 or £10 million as he is exactly what is needed as he can pass, cross and shoot from the left side and is no slouch at free kicks. He plays in the Premiership already and won't need to `adjust' or be another one of our one's with `potential' at WHL. I fear us buying Kewell because he will be cheaper. Again Spurs are taking their time to sign players that are available. Remember that we didn't nip in and grab Bale as some think, Bale's transfer was all but agreed in the last transfer window.I'm concerned as even though I was not keen on Nani, Spurs were hijacked for someone it seems, they actually wanted.   10. I've been critical in the past but as long as we get our man/ men I don't mind. Pedersen has always played well against us and would be welcome. Not sure about Nani, could be another Ronaldo or another Postage Stamp, who knows. Kewell will get injured too much and Giggs wants to break records.

  12. Pedersen is a top quality player, with bale that will make a strong left side, something that has been lacking. Chims and Lennon on the right gives v strong flanks. Pedersen is the right the man for the job as long as the price is right
