We Sign Davids!
By ManicSpur
For THBN
As predicted by the THBN Team earlier today, Dutch superstar midfield general Edgar Davids has signed for Tottenham Hotspur on a free from Italian giants Inter.
The 32-year old thrashed out personal terms today with Daniel Levy after having a lengthy chat with Tottenham head coach Martin Jol.
A medical on the player will be held at 10am at Spurs Lodge. All should go well and the player will be unveiled as the 'experienced midfielder' Jol was after.
So what does this signing mean?
I am sure that this will add street cred amongst many players in Europe.
Not only is Davids a ball winner, but he can run at players and has a ferocious shot.
We are sure that he will be playing alongside Michael Carrick in the heart of the midfield, with Teemu Tainio as his understudy.
So what do you think of this signing?

This is good news, indeed.
I know there was talk of him going back to Fulham, but Everton are meant to be admirers also.
I'd keep Tanio and Mendes - that should be enough midfielders with our young guns waiting in the wings for any injury crisis.
Jol said he would get a big signing and he has. Good job
I really hope so - if this transfer is totally Arnesen-free then we are going to be serious contenders come May next year and for the foreseeable future.
Four centre mids, 2 RW and 2 LW now though I do suspect the Boa Morte story is credible as Jol has made no mention of replacing Atouba so more then likely sees Ziegler moving to FB.
On the downside I've just entered my dream team and we sign Davids a day later!!! For Fucks Sake!!!
The pre-contract is a contract that states the exact figures of a standard contract with the exception that the club can terminate it if the player fails a medical.
We were informed that Brown is in talks with Wigan.
Everton are hot on the trail of Sean Davis but do not want to take him on a permanent deal as they fear for his injuries.
If we get anymore info, it will be posted here.
Tiaino showed more creative nouse in his first 20 minuted against Bocca than Carrick showed all season!!!
Boa Morte can F-Off!
Even after ive put a negative slant on this, i am still very excited about this signing , especially as he was free. What a squad!
now, on the subject of good - what is all this in the news about baptista having agreed a deal with arsenal? - why would he want to go there anyway? - if we could get him, sell kanoute, sell brown (although he's got a lot of spirit, hes not really premiership quality).
Anyway - another quality levy deal, is there any deal this man cannot close? - or was arshole, ur i mean arnesson, a factor? - surely not....come on jol, a result at porto and i think i might cum!
We publish what our sources feed us.
Regards
THBN Team
I think Brown (as much as he has got a big heart and loves the club ) as he is a limited ability player will be sold or even a swap with Nathan Ellington is a possibility or so we hear.
Now i seriously think all we need is Boa Morte to add some pace and power to our left hand side and Spurs are well and truly on their way back.
Thanks Mr Levy you made me proud of the cockerel again.
Personally I'd keep Mendes + Brown
peace
shorty
how can u judge tannio just on pre season? micheal brown came on well towards the end of the season and we all know we missed mendes when he was injured so for me its davis to go! davids great signing who said he hasnt played well for the last few years? what about helping barcelona climb to secound in the table single handedly the other season! u do get sum muppets
This is the only time I wish we had kept up our tradition of nearly signing someone.
ED comes with a great reputation, a date of birth comparable to my grandfather's, no experience of the English game and the worst taste in eyewear ever.
By the time he's up to speed with the EPL he'll need a fucking zimmer frame to get out of the centre circle.
Surely PM or TT is a better bet for the long run? Leave this worthless monkey to sip pints in Bournemouth with the rest of his blue-rinsed kind.
all our backup midfielders are of the same quality
Lets hope Davids "delivers".
COYS!

Just found this story on the Sky Sports website...
Tottenham could have jumped the gun in announcing the capture of Edgar Davids from Internazionale.
Spurs said on Tuesday that Davids had agreed to move to White Hart Lane, where he would undergo a medical and finalise personal terms on a free transfer from Inter.
However, Davids' lawyer Rob Geerling says that several British clubs are still talking to Inter over a move for the tenacious Dutchman.
Middlesbrough and Everton are also thought to be trying to sign Davids, and Geerling says the 32-year-old has not yet made a final decision.
"Edgar has offers from several British clubs, who are talking to Inter," said Geerling.
"Edgar is waiting to see what is happening with those clubs."
Although Spurs do seem favourites, Geerling hinted that the lack of European football at the North Londoners could yet act against them, with both Boro and Everton involved in European competition.
"[Martin] Jol kno…
This guy is on a gravy train and he's choo-chooing all the way to the bank. He doesn't give a crap about the EPL, it's the only place than will take him and pay his vast salary.
Perhaps we'll 'nearly' sign him after all!
Our team is now looking so strong and with cover in all positions.
Will be sorry to see Brown go. He hasn't got the quality but the guy tried very hard for us last year...dont forget that.
i would rather see Davis go than the hard working Brown!

Where you read that?
all spurs have to pay is 46k per week in wages, and a signing on fee
You could say the same about other players, like mendes, he gets paid 25k ish, so technically he is costing us a couple mill each year!
as is every other player!!!
just trust levy and jol, thats why they are in the jobs and you are not.
just calm down and get behind our new signing (if he comes).
