The Tottenham Strikers Department

With Kanoute and Keane being linked with so many clubs, and Mido seemingly wanting out, it poses the question of who will be in the Tottenham strikers department come Saturday 13th August 2005.
If reports are true, then it would seem as though Kanoute is no longer wanted by Martin Jol as his patience with the Mali international snapped when Kanoute decided not to go on tour with the squad to Mauritius.
Jol even accepted a bid from West Brom, only for Fredi to turn down the move. I still believe that he’ll be at Spurs come the opening game against Portsmouth. To some fans, the news of Kanoute staying will go down well, but to many others, including myself, it won't.
And what of Robbie Keane? It seems as though the Irish striker has made his mind up about quitting the club he said he would spend the rest of his career at.
The subs bench fiasco didn’t help either. Martin Jol said that they would get on and that the dispute was now firmly behind them. But how true is that? Towards the end of last season, I saw a change in Keane’s attitude. He didn’t get up after he was tackled, instead he would run after the ref for the next five minutes asking him to book the player.
Then he openly says that Strachan is the best manager he has ever had. I mean, come off it Robbie! You are a great player, but for heavens sake, show some respect to Jol. With only a year on his over-inflated salary, I believe he will try and sit out the 05/06 season at Spurs until he can get his wish granted and play for Celtic under the guidance of Strachan.
Last but not least, Mido. The Egyptian striker has been ordered by his national coach to get fit, lose weight and play regularly. Mido feels he may not be able to hold down a regular position at Spurs. I believe that if he takes his national coaches advice and does finally get fit and lose the little excess weight he's carrying, he will play alongside Defoe.
Unfortunately for us fans, we will have to wait and see what fortunes, if any, the merry-go-round will provide the somewhat questionable Tottenham strikers department.

P.S. Could you do me a favor and tell me exactly how to submit my blog to newsnow so it gets featured on the site. Do I have to click on XML feed??? What URL do I submit? It's not a Spurs blog so it won't be competition. I would appreciate it lots if you could help.
Thanks..

Kanoute the shining light against arsenal at the library ???
Were you even watching the same game ? He was a disgrace to the shirt in that game & should have been hauled off at half time.
He's nowhere near consistent enough, flashes of brilliance when you feel like it doesn't make you a premiership quality player.
He has been given too long in a Spurs shirt. Its time he moved on.
Bring on Vieri!
cheers,
see you next season

Strikers from:
Keane, Defoe, Vieri, Mido, Slabber
Lethal I say
We might let Keane & Kanoute go to have Defoe walk out on us at xmas, leaving us striking with an expetionaly talented but overweight Egyptian and ... er ... emergency yuf players at best.
Not a top 4 line up.
a) European champions league runner up......... or
b) finished 9th in prem
eerrrrr, let me think. Be realistic about our chances of signing these players.... you talk about Alerdyce having more connections in Europe... I think we try to sign players that are always going tosay no.... Big Sam is more realistic with his targets.... Djorkaef (however you spell it) for starters, he is someone Spurs could well have signed had we gone for him, but we didn't, we think we're too good for him now he's older, so we go for Vieri.... No F'ing chance, unless no other club bids for him, even Big Sam would've failed on that one.
So it's not a case of Sam having more connections, it's that he has a more realistic view of where his club stand's in the opinion of other players. He is also a great manager and well respected in the game, as was Robbo, which also makes it easier to sign play…
