Is Guti The Answer To The Attacking Midfielder We Need?

British tabloid, The Daily Mirror, has published another amazing story. This time, we are in for Real Madrid's attacking midfielder Guti and Manchester United's French striker Louis Saha.
Here is what the paper said:
"Spurs have turned their attention to Guti and seem to be at the head of the queue for a player who has been with Real all his career.
Spurs boss Martin Jol is also ready to make a cheeky bid to land Louis Saha on loan from Manchester United."
Can this be true? We have been linked with every player and his dog this season.
Would Real really sell for only £5 million? Would Guti join a team like Spurs, who are not in any European competitions?
The Saha story may have some substance to it though. I have heard the same story from another reliable source.
The fact is that Spurs are in talks with a club over an experienced player. We have no idea who the club or the player is.
Many of you (including me) would love to see Ajax star Westley Sneijder in our young team, but then again, Guti would do also.
Is this just another ploy to sell newspapers? I hope not. Everyone realises that we are in urgent need of not just an attacking midfielder, but an experienced one also. Does Guti fill that description? I'll let you decide.

Hey ho!!! ill still be there at the first game of the season full of optimism as always....
If anyone runs into the chairman of Hamburg remember to buy him and pint!!!!
And why link a shit story queing the Mirror to NewsNow?
The poster who said Butt and Bowyer needs his head examined........
he turned down arsenal a couple of years ago and has attracted attention from top italian sides.
in short .....BULLSHIT
Because he is naturally two-footed, he was played on both wings and did the job brilliantly.
He is an amazing tackler, and so he was placed in the central midfield position where he has since become a great attacking midfielder. He has bite, pace and aggression.
The Dutch call him 'The Pitbull' because he is very aggressive and passionate.
He is also in the Dutch squad. Would come in at around £5 million.
I prefer him over Guti anyday. Plus Jol knows him very well.
The Saha story has come around because Ferguson wants to loan him to a club for a season.
Kanoute or Keane (maybe both) will be sold. We will need another striker.
Mido will do well this season. He looks sharp now that he is much fitter.
We'll have to wait and see.
Guti is a good player anf for 5 mil we should go for it, but we wont because it blatantly isnt true, the press are making up all these stories that we are going for the Gooners targets..
rubbish
guti is superb!! do it!
Left Winger - Kieron Richardson or that Sjneider geezer - he is class.
Another Striker - Saha anyday over Kanoute
Attacking / Creative midfielder - I would say me as I would go for a free and am young at 22 but think Spurs would opt for possibly someone elese - Guti story is bullshit
Robinson
Ifil
Dawson
King
Hudlestone
Carrick
Brown
Lennon
Rouledge
Defoe
Marney
Ok,ok, we lacking a bit of strength and depth n a couple out of position BUT does anyone notice the FACT within that squad???
Sneidjer is good, but very, very short, almost dwarflike.
dw
Are you mental?
CAN'T ACCEPT AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER FOR MORE THAN £1M IF HE CAN'T EVEN SCORE (IN 26 APPEARANCES).
OH AND HE'S A STROPPY SO AND SO TOO!
FUCK HIM.
LIES ANYWAY.....
Other than that Sneidjer seems like a good option for the left, but it worries me a little how short our team is becoming. And it is surprising that there arent more dutch players being linked with us all things considered. Still looking forward to the season regardless! COYS
The little bastards are taking over
Ah well. I still think Sean Davies will shine this season, and we have Huddleston and Taino to prove themselves too. good competition.
We've been linked with every player who "supported the club as a kid" or "once scored a goal at white hart lane" or has ever been in england! As much as i'd love to see Spurs net a Big name this summer you have to look at what we already have! all the talk is of a midfielder but we have Carrick, Mendes, Davis, Huddlestone, Tainio, Reid, Routledge, Lennon as well as those who i believe we'd be best of selling, loaning or just disowning: Jackson, Brown, Marney, El Hamdaoiu. These 58 players are competing for 4 spots across the middle of the park, 5 max. why not look for the sort of striker that would compliment Defoe up top and actually look like they want to be playing unlike Kanoute and to a lesser extent Mido.
Given our current squad i'd line up with:
Robbo
Stalteri King Dawson Edman
Routledge Carrick Tainio Reid
…
Here's one player who has from day 1 proven himself in the EPL and we are looking for players outside the league fatasizing about how well they will do in the most physically demanding league in the world?
Zeigler anyday of the week, its all about pace, look at arsenal, they rip teams appart because of there pace. Reids a fat tosser
And his parents are Dwarfs
And Malbranque for more attacking bite from the midfield.
I think Richardson would be ideal left winger.. young and already had a good season in Prem
Something to think about, if we have these two pacey wingers do we need an attacking midfielder too?
I may be wrong but i think Routledge was the English leader in assists last year!
Guti will be world class. What more can u say abt a player with euro cup medals and international caps under his belt? And for 5m,he is a good bargain buy.
Spurs need hardmen like mascherano or baraja, and attacking players like Figueroa, saviola. (excluding extremely expensive players)
Saha is crap, he cant score.
Malbranque had 4 and Joe Cole had only 2.
He just needs more time on the pitch and less time warming up the bench. If Spurs can give that, and a chance to be a big big hero then he would take it.
But the question is, is he really that good?
GUTI PROMISED BIG THINGS BUT IS FUCKING AVERAGE, HE DIDNT EVEN GET TO BE A REGULAR IN HIS TEAM, AND HE IS A MOODY CUNT!!
WHO THE FUCK THIS DUTCH GUY IS , I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA!!!
GET A BIG FUCKING NAME IN NOW FOR FUCKS SAKE!!
IMAGINE FIGO LINING UP WITH DEFOE, HE WOULD IMPROVE SO FUCKING MUCH, SO WHAT IF FIGO'S WAGES ARE HIGH?? THE REWARDS WE WILL GET IF WE ARE ABLE TO ACTIVATE DEFOE PROPERLY WILL BE IMMENSE, SO FAR THE LITTLE FELLA HAS BEEN CREATING GOALS OUT OF NOTHING, IMAGINE HE WAS PLAYING OFF FIGO, IT WOULD BE AMAZING, FIGO WOULD ASLO INSPIRE AND HELP ALL OUR YOUNGSTERS IMPROVE TO THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.
SELL KANOUTE, KEANE, GARDNER, BUNJI, AND GET A WORLD CLASS STRIKER AS WELL AS FIGO.
WE CAN ALL SEE WHAT WE NEED, WHY CANT THE MANAGEMENT ACT ON IT FOR FUCKS SAKE.
Shut that hole in your face you fucking bandit,
WE HAVE THE MONEY, WHAT WOULD FUCKING STOP THEM FROM GETTING A BIG NAME U FUCKING MONGOLOID???
EITHER WAY YOU DONT KNOW WHAT LEVY AND JOL HAVE TRIED, OR IF ALL THE NEWSPAPER STORIES ARE TRUE OR BULLSHIT, SO SHUT YOU FUCKING HOLE YOU UTTER COCK!!
If you were a great player, would you join us or Barcelona?
I gave your mum a shot in the mouth last night
I think this Guti story is quite credible. He was linked with Juve and the Arse in the past, so whatever it is, we should welcome him.
Wake up and lets try and face reality instead of about bullshit that will never happen. It wont get us anywhere and only make us feel disapointed.
So do we want Guti at WHL or not?
Stop calling other ppl idiots when u only got 3 GCSEs.
Anyway back to spurs, I heard we just signed Paolo Tremazzani, jason dozell, ilie demtrescu, chris armstrong, andy sinton, gary doherty, those glory glory days are back again
And Sneijder is the real deal!
And AJ has one season wonder written all over him, maybe i am wrong but i wouldn't like to see us take the risk!
KANOUTE
BUNJI
GARDNER
KEANE
I think Jol wants to play with wings and that fat shit cant run, and he aint got the skills to skip around people. Do you think he'd get into Liverpool, newcastle, middlesborough,or even everton. He's average at best
But even if he is not fat, he still looks too tubby to be a football player. That reminds me of maradona though!
Idiots will always be idiots, but only the intellectual ones will suffer.
I like dwarfs
I do not doubt though that an attacking midfielder is needed. I am not sure about Sean Davis and his infury problems. I agree that Saha is better than Kanoute any day and although Keane has flashes of brilliance - he is not an asset to the squad. I remain to be convince by Mido and await to see his performances.
I think we have a pretty good squad lads...mainly english which can only be good news. We have money in the bank lets leave it at that giv them all a go.
If were lacking in any area have a blitz in the January sales!!
Chances are you don't hear about the players until we've actually signed them so doubt whether Guti or any other johnny foreigner not playing regular 1st team football for a superstar club is on the way.
Out.
LEVY HAS TURNED THIS FUCKING GREAT CLUB INTO A BARGAIN BASEMENT TEAM, HE'S EVEN GOT THE MAJORITY OF YOU CUNTS NOT WANTING BIG SIGNINGS, CONVINCING YOURSELVES THAT NO ONE WANTS TO COME TO SPURS, AND THAT ITS BETTER TO PAY LOW WAGES.
HE'S A CUNT AND SO ARE THE LOT OF YOU!!!
THANK YOU VERY FUCKING MUCH AND GOOD FUCKING NIGHT!!!
with this kieran richardson BULLSHITE!!! the lads fucking crap for good sake, he's no answers to anyones prayers, bloody hell just think if hes that good of player would ferguson fuck him off when giggsy's legs are about had it anyways??? MAYBE BECAUSE HES OVERATED, are you people really that dumb??? makes me wonder if people know anything about football what-so-ever, andy johnson had a good season hes a decent player but not world class and not better then what we have by a long margin, reid is an international player with skill, flair and creativity, only a stigma that the boys fat, well he's fittest player we have just about, no one seems to know this, guti has a buy out clause yeh, but that dont mean he's worth 40 mill people, hes been on record this year saying he's been thinking about moving on and getting back abit of revenue for real (there in debt if no one realised that earlier) between 5-8 mill is about right for him, sneider if thats howyou spe…
LEVY IS CUNT WHO WILL NOT SIGN THE BIG BOYS, SO ALL OF YOU JUST SIT BACK AND GET THE ONLY PLEASURE YOU CAN OUT OF A SEASON, WHICH IS TO SEE ARSENAL LOSE OR DRAW A FUCKING MATCH!!!
Any chance of putting the correct time on the posts?
The Spurs do however need an attacking midfielder - but its not Guiti. I would be pleased to see the back of Kanoute and Robbie Keane, but that would leave us short of strikers. Saha would be a good loan signing - Crouch and Andy Johnson are one season wonders and should stay in the Championship.
Jonesy - you can't say does anyone know anything about football - then follow with the sentence Andy Johnson had a good season, he's a good player, but not world class. Not world class - without his penalties he would have struggled to hit double figures last season, he's struggling to be Prem class - if Defoe took as many penalties as him he would have been top goalscorer in prem, and to be honest, he only played well for the first half of the season.
