Tottenham Hotspur have finally come to an agreement with Crystal Palace over their young winger Wayne Routledge.

Spurs had tabled a bid of £1.5 million in the January transfer window, only for Palace to reject that offer.

Wayne Routledge's contract was due to expire on the 30th June 2005, but he wouldn't have been eligible for a Bosman style transfer as he is under the age bracket. This meant that Spurs and Palace would have had to battle it out in a tribuneral.

The two London based clubs finally came to an agreement last night for the England under 21 international. An undisclosed fee has been agreed, believed to be around £1.2 million rising to £2 million if a number of appearances is met along with England call-ups.

Routledge has signed a 5-year contract reportedly worth £6,000 per week. He will join the rest of the team on 1st July.

The THBN staff wish our new winger the best of luck at White Hart Lane.
