Tottenham recently traveled to Mauritius for a few games at the end of May 2005. Not accompanying the party was Mali striker, Fredi Kanoute. We can take his non-arrival in Mauritius two ways.
  1. He is about to leave the club and so has to sort out some personal details.
  2. He just didn't want to take the 11 hour flight.

Spurs yesterday rejected a 4.5 million pound deal to take Kanoute to WBA. Some sources close to Martin [Jol] have said that Kanoute's absence in Mauritius angered him.

If that is the case, then we can safely say that Kanoute chose option 2.

The Mali striker has the tendency to annoy the club. Two years ago, Kanoute decided to transfer his allegiance to Mali which meant him playing in the African Nations Cup and missing for up to 5 weeks.

This angered the management of the club and his future was clouded. Under Jol, he has been given another chance to prove himself.

This latest outburst could mean that the end of line for Kanoute is drawing very near indeed.
