Jol has done well with us and the last few years have been good. But I don't think Jol is the man who can take us further. Can anyone honestly say they can see us winning the prem with Jol? whether it be in 5 or 10 years I just don't think he is strong enough tactically to mount that kind of challenge.

I read in an interview last season in the independent that he'd like to go and manage the dutch national team or back in the Dutch eredivisie after a few years, and also that it would always be impossible to win the premiership with spurs, showing lack of ambition.

Jol has been a faithful servant over the last few years but I'm afraid he can't take us further. Never mind all this "Rome wasn't built in a day", he is just too weak tactically.

It wasn't the board who told Berba to fake a injury. If it's a fake he's doing it not to play for Spurs anymore . Two weeks till the transfer windows closes, right? And his agent said it was in the last minute and not serious. That can explain why he was omly in pain in the end and that the club buying him won't be buying damaged goods.
I know the agent is having talks with Arsenal since the Sunderland game and, last but not the least, for the first time Berba didn't talk about Spurs , only about the National side on tv last Sunday, but said that he still had 12 days to move on.
So, it's a mess, ladies and gents. I believe Jol should stay and Berba should go. He's not with this club any longer.

It's not after Sunderland. In SA Berba was soaking all the time too. He never commited cause he expected to be the king and he isn't. And he had two terrible rows with Jol after the two games. So Jol is right in wanting him out. He's a liability for Spurs right now. Even if he stays and Jol goes, the new manager will not treat him as the star and the problem will go on.
Berbatov should have moved in the Summer. He stayed because he was the darling of the club and fans, but he was quite surprised to see he was just one more when he came back. Time to go. And keep Jol!

9:28...I don't need to attend the training sessions,I see the result of them every match. Jol still hasn't got the defence sorted, no set piece plays sorted, unbalanced team selection, fitness levels of players questionable, and a tactic of passing the ball back to Robbo to thump it forward.
As for 5th last season, it was very nice of Bolton and Reading to throw away 15 pt leads on us, and as soon as we played someone decent in the cup, we get knocked out. Take the blinkers off and look at waht people are posting.

This is ridiculous, we've just given him 40 mill to spend onplayers, although how much of it is comolli, and now we're sacking him. Spurs will never achieve things unless they give the manager time, we have invested in a lot of youth and jol should be given time to improve them. My view is the board are an incredibly intelligent group of people, who I sincerely hope are doing all these things for the right reasons. Some time ago you may remember the club posted a note saying they would not act on any speculation but would only post facts. This could all be another storm whipped up to sell newspapers, or the work of some goon or chelski fan.
What people fail to see is the board have backed the managers and been very patient for a return to the big time. We have one of the best squads of young players in the premiersip if not Europe. We have spent heavily but wisely as well. OK you may say Bent was expensive for £16.5m but the new tv money has pushed the prices of all players up. Our board have realised this very quickly and looked to invest the money.
My concern comes with the news of the Berba bust up and Comollis increasing involvement. A couple of months ago we were disgusted with Ghaly for venting frustration for throwing his shirt down. I'm not condoning that (even if I did feel his treatment was harsh) but whats the difference with Berbatov? All this is detracting from what we need to be working on, which is a challenge for the top places in the league.

and yes i'm going to say it and i'm not ashamed, 5 in the last 2 seasons.that can't be a fluke there must be a good level of organisation and tactics there.
Team selection yes we can all do that one can't we.i bet you would drop so and so, play this one with that, he would never wear the shirt if i was in charge.but like me you are just banging on a keyboard while Jol is actaully picking a team in one of ,if not the best league in the world. thats worlds apart.

Jol is a great guy. i wouldn't have agreed with his sacking on the basis of the 2 defeats, however, with a broader view, is he really the man to take us to the top? Ramos is an exceptional manager, the type that is not going to come along too often and certainly of the calibre that a madrid or barca would go for.

he's got a mate on the board so should show commitment and offer some stability.

not sure about the berba thing but there's certainly no smoke without fire. i love the big man, but using my head ramos would be a more successful manager without a doubt.
