What's The Real Issue With Vincent Janssen


Fotospor are suggesting that Vincent Janssen wants to join Turkish side Galatasaray, who are based in Istanbul.

This summer Janssen has been linked with three Turkish Super Lig sides, Fenerbache, Besiktas and now Galatasaray.

He has been relieved of the number 9 shirt.

He didn't go on the USA tour to play in the International Champions Cup, which we won.

There are no pictures of him training with Spurs even though he has been.

It seems rather strange. There must be a reason beyond that he is for sale I would have thought.

Why is he being frozen out?

It does beg the question, is he the one turning down offers made to him and not Tottenham or the clubs interested like Fenerbache being responsible?

Is he another who doesn't want to take a drop in wages like Emmanual Adebayor, whom we simply couldn't shift and ended up sending him to train with the Development Squad?

Has he had a row with Pochettino?

Has he become a disruptive influence, sulking and moaning at Hotspur Way?

Fans suggest he is being badly treated but fans do not know what has happened behind the scenes. There is a reason, it isn't just that he hasn't made the grade I am sure. If that were the case he would be openly training with us and there wouldn't be an issue seeing him in Tottenham kit or clothing.

I'd love to be able to give you the answers and an explanation of what is happening but I simply don't know.

But I'm convinced there is more to this than meets the eye.

    Whilst alot of water has flowed under the bridge since the potential arrival of Grealish hit the headlines, Adrien Rabiot is, apparently, refusing to renew his contract with PSG (expires June 2019).
    This is a player we have courted before, a central MF (attacking and defensive) and a leftie who could arrive on a free?
    He's played for France at all levels but is currently being ignored by Deschamps so I'm guessing he wants seek pastures new in order to resurrect his career...could he be part of a deal which would see Danny Rose going the other way?
    • He spells his name funny but otherwise could be a great addition I'm sure. Seriously though, he seems to be a quality player with the flexibility we require. Not home-grown, so maybe harder to get over the line, but I'd certainly be pleased to see him here.

    • We can't buy him now but maybe some agreement could be reached with PSG that would allow for example Rose to go now and give us first refusal in say January.
      If I remember correctly he visited Poch (with his Mum) at the new training ground a couple of years ago
    • These are the sort of things I expect Premiership clubs to be involved in increasingly as we learn how to deal effectively with these new transfer window limits.

      Spurs bought no-one, but this could be the start of when that's a lot less unusual - with plans simply being made to move for them in later windows (whether January or next Summer).

      If we pick up Adrien within the next year due to this change then I'll see this window as a successful one - even though most will simply see that as a more successful later window. I'd be very surprised if much work hadn't been achieved this time, but behind closed doors so most are unaware of it.

      Let's see.
