Victor Wanyama

Despite being injured, Victor Wanyama has been named in a provisional squad of 38 for the upcoming Kenyan Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier game against Ghana on 8th September at the MISC Kasarani.

Midfielders
Victor Wanyama (Tottenham Hotspur), McDonald Mariga (Real Oviedo, Spain), Clifton Miheso (Buildcon FC, Zambia), Paul Were (FC Kaisar, Kazakhstan), Ismael Gonzales (CF Fuenlabrada, Spain), Eric Johanna (IF Brommapojkarna, Sweden),

The club announced on August 9th that the Kenyan captain was progressing well with gym-based rehabilitation for his knee injury. That suggests to me that he may not be fit for their game or we may look to use it to help get hi match fit.

Christian Eriksen has been nominated for UEFA's Goal of the Season award following his piledriver in Denmark's World Cup play-off win over the Republic of Ireland.

Cristiano Ronaldo for his old club Real Madrid against his new club Juventus and Dimitri Payet for French side Marseilles against Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are the other nominations.

A journalist has suggested the French side PSG will offer £100m (€112.17m) for Christian Eriksen. Barcelona were reported in the national press as having been quoted £169.39 million (€190m) earlier this summer.

Sky Italian reporter Gianluca di Marzio () has suggested Real Madrid have made contact with Spurs and were quoted £178.3 million (€200).

There is no way Mauricio Pochettino will sell a player he is going to rely on this season with no opportunity to replace them. It would be insane, it would destroy Tottenham's season and put back our development plan. We would struggle to qualify for the Champions League, which currently is a priority.
