Spurs Win International Champions Cup

It has now been confirmed that the International Champions Cup winners 2018 are Tottenham Hotspur.

Our youngsters did us proud in the prestigious pre-season tournament held in America and once again our participation and indeed our victory, helps us raise our international profile and our profile in the States.

We thrashed Roma 4-1 after going a goal behind thanks to two strikes by Fernando Llorente and two by Lucas Moura.

Tottenham: Vorm, Aurier, Carter-Vickers, Davies, Walker-Peters, Sissoko, Amos, Lucas, Eriksen, Lamela, Llorente.

We then moved on to play Barcelona, who we drew 2-2 with but lost on penalties, a loss which gave us 1 point. We came from 2-0 down to level with two goals in two minutes from Son and N'Koudou in front of a 66,805 crowd.

Tottenham: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Carter-Vickers, Davies, Walker-Peters, Amos, Sissoko, Eriksen, Lucas Moura, Son, Llorente.

Subs: Subs: Sanchez, Vorm, N'Koudou, Georgiou, Skipp.

Man of the match: Christian Eriksen

We then beat AC Milan 1-0 with a goal from Georges-Kevin N'Koudou in front of 31,264 spectators to give ourselves 7 points overall.

Tottenham: Vorm, Walker-Peters, Sanchez, Eyoma, Georgiou, Skipp, Marsh, Amos, Moura, Nkoudou, Llorente.

Subs used: Gazzaniga, Eriksen, Son, Aurier, Davies, Carter-Vickers.

Those 7 points were enough to see us top the table and win the tournament on goal difference to join the previous winners Real Madrid, Manchester United, PSG (twice) and Barcelona. Exhalted company indeed and a sign of our growing status.

As pre-season fitness, it was excellent, for giving some youngsters the experience of playing against some big names in front of crowds they don't see it was a tremendous exercise and for raising our worldwide profile it was a success too.
