There has been plenty of talk about Tottenham Hotspur being linked with Inter Milan midfielder João Mário, who has been on loan at West Ham United.

The talk has been that Inter Milan have offered him to Spurs as part of a deal to take Mousa Dembélé the other way. The Italians don't want to pay more than €!0-€15m for him.

Other reports suggest Spurs have been scouting the 25-year-old (26 next January) Portuguese international.

Now reports are emerging that West HamUnited asked for a loan deal for him where the club will pay his full wages, but pay no loan fee. That was flatly turned down by Inter who want to sell him.


A report suggests that João Mário does not want to return to Italian football and that Wolves are interested, they seem to be linked with everyone as they try to build a side to stay in the Premier League after promotion.

This report in Gazzetta Dello Sport suggests that the suggestion to Spurs to include Mário received no interest from Spurs.
