Villa view of Onomah, Griffiths wanted and Top 4 Challenge

An Aston Villa fans view of Josh Onomah

Griffiths may be wanted by RB Leipzig

A big Top 4 weekend for Spurs

JOSH ONOMAH

Josh Onomah, the 20-year-old Tottenham loanee has been heavily criticised on social media by Aston Villa fans, who feel the Spurs youngster is not showing enough desire say HITC. I was commenting on the same thing last season when he showed the same lack of desire for us.

For me he was highlighting the problems that can arise with some young players who get an early taste of Premier League football. Some of them then think they have made it and stop doing the things that got them that far. In reality they have to double their efforts, it it the start of a football career.

In their last game against Preston he made 6 tackles, had 5 dribbles and created 2 chances through key passes. Does you just love all this new terminology. Go back to the 70's, 80's, 90's and 6 tackles meant you had played the last 10 minutes!

In the last year with us he appeared to have gone backwards. He looked as if he was going through the motions.

Here is what Tonyl Martin has to say, a sensible Villa fan from Birmingham I follow on Twitter.

"He hasn't featured very often lately, he was a revelation at the beginning of the season and scored a couple but his performances and work rate dipped and he often went missing during games and he was left on the bench for a while, he came back in to the team for the last two matches and was more solid so there is still time for him to impress."

REO GRIFFITHS

When it comes to youngster, our Trumpton fan is the man to follow. Look it upif you are too young to remember the programme and it's characters.

The youngster has been tearing it up with the academy. It is nothing unusual that his contract is up for renewal in June with short term contracts at this level common pace.

THE TOP 4 FIGHT

Ant football fans about, Saturday is sorted.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿12.00 Palace vs Spurs 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿14.05 Man United vs Chelsea 🏆16.30 Arsenal vs Man City 🇪🇸19.45 Sevilla vs Atletico 🇮🇹19.45 Roma vs Milan 🇫🇷 20.00 PSG vs Marseille

Chelsea are currently one point ahead of us so a win is vital on Saturday against Crystal Palace. Mourinho usually sets up Manchester United to draw against Chelsea and any dropped points for the blues would be good for us.

Our goal difference is 28, theirs is 26 so moving into the top four this weekend would put added pressure on a troubled camp. The focus must be there.
