Spurs Tracking One Of The Brightest Prospects In Italy

Spurs target called up to Italian training camp

Andrea Pinamonti is an 18-year-old (19 in May) forward on the books at Inter Milan. The Italian Under-19 international is thought to have a big future ahead of him, he rated as one of the brightest prospects in Italy. He is a player Tottenham have been following for a while now, as have Chelsea and Liverpool.

Italy interim coach Gigi Di Biagio has called up Pinamont into the Italian squad for a training camp as the Juventus, AC Milan and Lazio players are unavailable to him.

In the UEFA Youth League and the Coppa Primavera he has scored 7 goals in 8 games. He has had 13 minutes in Serie A and 45 minutes in the Coppa Italia. The youngster is under contract until 2021.

Italian website CalcioMercato claimed Tottenham representatives met with the player's agent, Marco De Marchi, in London to discuss his availability in January 2017. He is behind other players and Inter have money to spend so he finds himself well down the pecking order. That makes his future uncertain and he knows of our interest. It is possible he could seek opportunities elsewhere.

It is a bit like being a youngster at Manchester City or Chelsea, you have virtually no chance of breaking through as they simply buy players and you get pushed down the pecking order again. Staying with such clubs can damage a youngsters career, eventually they have to move away.
