Taking a competition by storm, 2 goals in 11 games!

TRANSFER TALK

How can you be taking the UEFA Champions League by storm when you have only played one game?

That is the idiotic claim made by talkSPORT, whose commentators on Saturday were telling us they were at White Hart Lane, hate to tell them we were playing at Wembley!

The Daily Mail suggest Tottenham have sent a scout to watch 26-year-old (27 next June) Beşiktaş striker Cenk Tosun, although that is in fact a guess, we may well have gone to watch other players. Tosun has 6 goals in 21 full internationals for Turkey and scored one goal in his one UEFA Champions League game to somehow take the competition by storm, Harry Kane has 2 goals, is he taking the competition by a hurri-Kane then!

In total he has played 7 games in total in his career in the UEFA Champions League proper ad scored 2 goals, he has played 4 UEFA Champions League qualifier games without troubling the scorers either. So that is 2 goals in 11 games to take a competition by storm.

Football Fancast speculate we might be interested in buying him in January, why? We have just bought Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen returns to our books next summer. We are not going to pay the wages of 4 strikers, probably not even 3, we would sell before we buy and that isn't going to happen until next summer. That's just common sense.
