Spurs still scouting striker with 6 goals in 8 games

TRANSFER TALK

Tottenham have been watching 26-year-old (27 next August)  Hoffenheim striker Mark Uth for a while now and according to talkSPORT, that means we are showing real interest.

That suggests something more and I'm not so sure that is the case, despite a report from German magazine Kicker that the former German Under-20 international striker is running down his existing contract so he can move as a free agent next summer.

Simply because a player will be available for free, although they will want a signing on fee, doesn't mean we are simply going to be in the market for them because they are a bargain. I say that because we have fans who will believe the opposite.

Is Pochettino the huge fan that it is claimed? If so we will certainly be in for him and he would already know that. His season has started well with 6 goals in 8 appearances (a goal every 75 minutes), 4 in 5 games in the Bundesliga (a goal every 88 minutes). We have signed Fernando Llorente on a two-year deal so have a couple of years to find a long term back up striker for Harry Kane.

We have looked at many strikers who are short, Sergio Aguero size, Uth is 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in) and scored 2 goals against Bayern Munich earlier this month to beat the perennial champions. We have been linked with him for the last two windows and some are even suggesting we will move for him in January, which if we did, would only be on a pre-contract basis for the summer.
