TRANSFER TALK

Tottenham have been tracking 21-year-old (22 in September) German full and Under-21 international attacking midfielder Max Meyer for several seasons now. According to both the UK and German media, Spurs have now made a bid for the Schalke 04 youngster.

Italian website TMW claim they have been told by sources in both countries that Spurs have tabled a bid, although no figures are given.

Meyer has a contract at the Bundesliga side until 2018 so will need to be sold this window if the German sid are to get a fee for him. Reports suggests he is open to moving and fellow Premier League sides Leicester City, Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked.

Argentinian-Spanish forward Giovanni Simeone has been linked to Sevilla, Villarreal, Fiorentina and Torino.  Reports in Italy are suggesting the 22-year-old (23 next July) Genoa striker is valued at £18.05 million (€20m - AUS$29.70m - US$23.55m) by his club, who bought him from River Plate for £4.51 million (€5m - AUS$7.42m - US$5.89m). The Argentinian side also receive a sum from any future sale and discussed that potential from his 'imminent sale to England' at a recent board meeting.

Former Tottenham and now Crystal Palace winger, England international Andros Townsend has been targeted by Stoke City, according to latest UK news. Potters boss Mark Hughes is working on trying to sign the 26-year-old (27 next July), reportedly for £15 million (€16.62m - AUS$24.68m - US$19.57m).

It is thought Townsend is unlikely to leave Palace, with whom he has a contract until 2021. He hasn't really progressed since he left Spurs suggesting Pochettino called it right when he wasn't picking him., amid rumours Townsend wasn't following his coaches instructions.

French international playmaking midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been asked about rumours linking him with a move to Italian champions Juventus. The 22-year-old (23 next April) is being chased by Tottenham, Arsenal and AS Roma told reporters he is happy in Paris, where he has a contract until 2019.

"Serie A might be sure a good idea for my future, of course. But at the time I'm fine here in Paris, playing for PSG."
