Everton do a WBA and shoot themselves in the foot

TRANSFER TALK

According to BBC 5 Live Ross Barkley has turned down a move to Chelsea, I hate to say it, but what did I tell you.

His desire is to play under Mauricio Pochettino and improve they way he has improved other England players. That pull is far greater than money and being injured for another 3 months yet possibly, January is the common sense time to buy him. If Everton want his wages off their books then they will have to accept a sensible Daniel Levy price in the next few hours, but that is highly unlikely, few benefits in it for us.

Everton, like WBA with Saido Berahino, have shot themselves in the foot by demanding far too much money for him earlier in the transfer window, when he was in the last year of his contract. Now he will be worth what in January, £8 million (€8.68m - AUS$13.01m - US$10.34m), £10 million (€10.86m - AUS$16.26m - US$12.93m) perhaps, not a lot more.
