Will PSG sell Serge Aurier to Spurs to raise cash for Alexis Sanchez?

French giants PSG and Chilean international striker Alexis Sanchez have reached an agreement. The 28-year-old (29 in September) is currently at the Royal Monceau, a luxury hotel in Paris.

He travelled there from Cauquenes where he made a donation to victims of forest fires in the Maule region. Chile fought its worst ever fires in January when 180,000 hectares were burned, at least eleven people died and thousands lost their homes.

PSG will now send a first offer of £44.93 million (€50m - AUS$73.74m - US$58.4m) to Arsenal, who intend to refuse any offers. he has made it perfectly plain he wants UEFA Champions League football next season, not UEFA Europa League football.

The CIES Football Observatory give his transfer value as £86.14 million (€95.9m - AUS$141.45m - US$111.96m), the 17th most expensive in Europe.

They have signed Alexandre Laccazette, but if they lose Sanchez it is arguable whether they are improving the squad or weakening it.

Fellow London side West Ham United have now signed an amazing THIRTY ONE strikers since 2010. Of those, twenty of them have failed to score more than three goals. I would think Javier Hernandez is going to do better than that.

Let's finish with a spot of Tottenham transfer news and it is news I have been expecting, Spurs have started negotiations with PSG for 24-year-old (25 in December) right-back Serge Aurier. The French side need to raise funds for the purchases of Neymar and Alexis Sanchez, Aurier is one of the possible players they can sell, is sponsored by Nike and has a contract that runs out in 2 years time.

The report comes from Téléfoot, a French football programme and has been picked up by the press over here.

  1. I doubt what we would pay would be anywhere near enough for PSG.
