Transfer Talk: Mitchell Weiser

TRANSFER TALK

Transfer business conducted so far.
£55m - Kyle Walker
£16m - Nabil Bentaleb
£6.1m - Clinton Njie
£2.8m - Federico Fazio

While it looks like a nice sum coming in, two of these were already off the wages books so there is still the need to sell Moussa Sissoko and free up his wages. Daniel Levy is usually excellent in the transfer window but in the end we had to sign anyone just for numbers it seems and agreed to overpay his wages.

Plenty of fans shouting spend, plenty shouting spend whatever the cost, not the way to run a successful business and not the Spurs are run. The right player at the right price, there are plenty of players out there so we do not need to be held to ransom.

Turkish international winger Cengiz Ünder has joined AS Roma from Başakşehir for £12.26 million (€14m - AUS$20.5m - US$16.05m).

Another right-back we have been watching last season is 23-year-old (24 next May) Hertha BSC defender Mitchell Weiser. He is under contract until 2020 and can play anywhere down the right hand side. he joined Hertha in 2015 on a free transfer from Bayern Munich and has 11 German Under-21 caps.

He scored the winner in the Under-21 final against Spain and has pace. We have extensively watched the German Under-21 side and he has come to our attention.

  2. With something in the region of 80 million in the transfer kitty, there's plenty to buy Kovarcic from Real Madrid, whom I believe is a better addition to our squad than either Barkley or Mahrez. A figure of 25-30 million would be enough to secure his services, leaving plenty to secure the services of another central defender and/or right back if it is felt one is needed.

With Lamela Rose and Winks returning, the squad only needs one or two additions to flesh it out. With 3 players scoring 20 or more goals last season, do we really need to splash the cash to secure another forward?
