Pochettino would rather keep Janssen

TRANSFER TALK

Pochettino-wants-Janssen

Fox Sport are reporting that Tottenham have turned down three offers for 23-year-old (24 next June) Dutch international striker Vincent Janssen.

He was awarded the 2016 Johan Cruyff Trophy, the Dutch "Talent of the Year" award but struggled for us in his first season in the Premier League. He has 13 full international caps scoring 7 goals.

According to the Sun his time at Tottenham is a nightmare, typical trash from the gutter press who haven't looked into his statistics. He only played 829 minutes of Premier League football, the equivalent of just 9.21 minutes.

According to 90 mins Borussia Monchengladbach are set for talks over a transfer, which is wild guesswork. Simply because a club are interested in a purchase doesn't mean talks will take place, indeed, if we don't want to sell him then they certainly won't.

Their £12 million (€13.66m - AUS20.28m - AUS$15.53m) offer wouldn't be anywhere near enough, we bought him for £17 million (€19.36m - AUS28.72m - AUS$22m) so we would be asking for more than that.

Naturally in World Cup season he will be wanting to play regularly and thus may well be open to a move, however that would have to be on Tottenham's terms, so a loss on him would be unlikely to interest us, especially when you consider we want over £17 million for reserve centre-back Kevim Wimmer. I don't see clubs paying more than we paid for him.
