Pochettino feels all is calm, all is well

The Tottenham transfer strategy is either misunderstood by a small section or they simply don't believe what has clearly been a successful strategy so far in building our current squad, will continue to be successful. Nobody seems to be taking into account that other sides have to play catch up or that we can improve as a team, as a squad by getting better at what we do and by an improvement in the players we already have. Pochettino is certainly calm.

“Our moment will arrive. We are calm because our squad is competitive. We have a plan. We have a very clear idea of what we want. 

“There are a lot of rumours about the big sides spending money and it looks like Tottenham is not ambitious. I want to tell our fans ’don’t be worried’, because we will move in the market.“

Now perhaps those fans who are panicking and can't or don't want to see the strategy we have, might now see there is a clear plan from the club, Daniel Levy is not working against Mauricio Pochettino.

The strategy is plain, part of it is we will not simply overpay for players, we will carefully select those we want and will aim to get them at the right price for us, if we can't we move on and look at other players who also fit the criteria.

It is pretty clear we are considering right-backs with perhaps 24-year-old (25 in December) Ivorian international and PSG right-back Serge Aurier top of the list. The clubs are apart of valuation at the moment so it's a waiting game, our other targets will know the score and if they want to come to Spurs they will wait to see what unfolds before sorting their future out.

Ross Barkley is another, but being injured we have no rush to sign him and can again wait for his price to be forced down to sensible levels. Tottenham will know exactly where they stand with him and if he has assured Spurs he won't be going anywhere else, as has seemed the case the whole window, we can wait for Everton to accept a player with less than a year left on his contract can not be sold at full market value.

Kevin Wimmer hasn't left so there is no urgency to get in a centre-back and with Erik Lamela returning, there is no great pressure to get another wide attacker, especially if GK N'Koudou is going to show improvement this season.

All is calm, all is well.
