No Spurs players wish Walker good luck

TRANSFER TALK

It's rather interesting that no Spurs player has wished Kyle Walker good luck on social media after his transfer to Manchester City and that Victor Wanyama has unfollowed him on Instagram. Speaks volumes.

While fans seem to be calling for any signing at any price just to appease them, Spurs and Pochettino only want to buy the right players at the right prices. As long as players are partaking in pre-season at their rspective clubs then it isn't such an issue getting a complete pre-season at a new club.

Obviously it helps, but it is more of a concern is a player gets no pre-season in the way Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N'Koudou didn't get one last summer.

Tottenham have a policy of building a young squad with the potential to improve and that isn't going to be deviated from. This could be a big season for Cameron Carter-Vickers and it could be the season he starts to break through in the way Mason did, Alli did, Kane did and Winks did.

Those are the impact standards the other youngsters have to aspire to. Josh Onomah should be looking to make an impact after his successful World Cup campaign. Congratulations to Marcus Edwards for being a part of the successful England Under-19 side at the European Championships.
