Clubcall claim A Spurs target is to stay at Southampton, except the player they list is a 25-year-old (26 in August) right-back we have hardly been linked with, Cedric Soares. At least Sky Sports are reporting he isn't a target.

Talksport then bring us old news that Real Madrid reserve player, 23-year-old (24 in August) Mariano Diaz is wanted by Lyon, when the news a week or so ago was that he was on the verge of signing for them.

The Mirror then tell us Southampton, again, he given us a hands off warning over 25-year-old (26 in July) Virgil van Dijk, even though again he ia a player we are not looking to sign. Thy warn off Liverpool even though they can't sign him as they would be officially reported for tapping up and obviously found guilty. Why you are issuing a hands off to a club who can't sign him anyway, goodness knows.

As reported yesterday Carlos Alena is staying at Barcelona, reports that he was close to signing for Spurs are not true. It as simply websites not bothering to understand what was happening or understand the situation. Players look at the ir options, it doesn't mean they are about to put pen to paper.
