Transfer Talk - Costa, Abraham, Batshuayi

TRANSFER TALK

Spanish giants Barcelona are challenging Italian giants Juventus for 26-year-old (27 in September) Brazilian international (he has 18 full international caps scoring 3 goals) Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa according to 'Spanish newspaper SPORT'.

With those two to compete against it is going to be very difficult for Mauricio Pochettino to sign him. The question is do you wait and keep trying until you find out whether one of them is going to sign him or do you look elsewhere and try to secure another signing, but potentially losing out on him were he to become available later in the window?

It is a juggling act and only hindsight will tell us what is the right move and

Newcastle United are close to signing 20-year-old (21 in October) Chelsea and England Under-21 forward Tammy Abraham on loan. The deal is expected to be finalised in the next few days, barring any late unforeseen hitches.

Michy Batshuayi wants more game time so whether he will still be at Chelsea come September is anyone's guess. It seems he is thinking ahead to the 2018 World Cup and therefore needs to be playing football on a regular basis. A move to Tottenham last summer would have been a far better move and he made a mistake joining Chelsea who simply threw money at him.

The problem he now has is wages. To move elsewhere he'll have to take a drop and whether he is prepared to do that is a question we don't know the answer to. If he wants the same level of wages then he is very limited where he can go. Money or football Mr. Batshuayi?
