Spanish Under-21 international (he has 4 international caps) winger Samu Castillejo is on the radar of Mauricio Pochettino according to AS in March but is being heavily chased by Italian side Napoli., who finished third this season one point behind Roma and five behind winners Juventus.

That means they can offer players UEFA Champions League football next season which has already seen Tottenham linked Dries Mertens  sign a new contract with them. Napoli are hoping 22-year old (23 next January) winger Castillejo will join him. They have started talks with his agent, Manuel Garcia Quilón, and have offered Villarreal £12.21 million (€14m - AUS$21.06m - US$15.78m).

The Spaniards have set a £17.43 million (€20m - AUS$30.08m - US$22.54m) fee on the former Malaga player however.

In March, Italian website Il Mattino revealed the left-footed Castillejo, who generally plays on the right, was being tracked by Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal. The scorer of three goals last season and with 5 assists in 41 games (2,602 minutes - 28.91 full games) he is under contract until 2020.

At the time the Daily Star were shouting a fee of £35 million (€40.15m - AUS$60.42m - US$45.25m), a figure vastly at odds with the real world.
