Spurs interested in World Cup winning starlet

TRANSFER TALK

Tottenham are reportedly interested in 19-year-old (20 in October) Charlton Athletic starlet Ezri Konsa who is a right-footed English centre-back.

He was part of the England Under-20 squad which won the FIFA 2017 Under-20 World Cup in South Korea recently. Konsa  made his debut on 8 June as a last minute substitute against Italy U-20 i the semi-final and sat on the bench for the rest of the tournament.

Under contract until 2020, this season he played 32 games in League One, 1 in the League Cup, 3 in the FA Cup and 3 in the EFL Trophy, a competition Spurs didn't enter. In all he picked up 8 yellow cards and can also play at right-back and central defensive midfield.

He was stunned by his England call-up which won't have done his confidence any harm at all. It will have been quite an experience for him, being highly-rated, yet not having progressed through the England youth ranks.
