Son Heung-min breaks his arm

A blow for Tottenham Hotspur as Son Heung-min, who had a tremendous season for the club scoring more than 20 goals and winning over fans, has broken his arm playing for South Korea against Qatar.

Son had to leave the field after 35 minutes as South Korea lost their World Cup qualifier to future hosts. He has fractured his forearm the Korean Football Association (KFA) have confirmed.

Tottenham Hotspur start the season away from home for 20th time in the last 26 Premier League seasons. This time it is against Newcastle United. The odds of that happening for a random fixture generation system are surely far too high for this to be anything other than the Premier League requesting Spurs play away so Arsenal can play at home. Their usual bias continues.
Premier League matches post UEFA Champions League games next season 2017/18:

  • Swansea City (H)
  • Huddersfield Town (A)
  • Liverpool (H)
  • Crystal Palace (H)
  • WBA (H)
  • Stoke City (H)

Obviously these are just for the group stage games and we would be hoping this time to get through to the knockout stages.

Five home games and one away game isn't too bad, nor are the teams we have to play. We will still need to improve the strength in depth in the squad so we can use more players without reducing the quality too much.
