Pochettino meets PSG manager and Marseille sporting director

Spanish Mundo Deportivo report that Mauricio Pochettino was in attendance on stage at the Bilbao International Football Summit 2017 (BIFS'17).

The event was chaired by Julen Guerrero (Athletic Bilbao) and included alongside Pochettino, PSG manager Unai Emery, Olympique Marseille sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta, former Guinea manager and Spanish footballer Luis Fernández.

Pochettino spoke about where football is going and mentioned that any tour now involves a marketing department as much as anyone else. Football was a business and that "parties are also won in the press room."

"The football coach also has today the challenge of being able to live together. I agree that the offices are on the football field. Today you discuss a tour with the head of marketing because football today is no longer football. I also want the head of communication at the stadium when we train. If there is a problem there, you have to solve it already."

The event began with a discussion on women's football, then they moved on to talk about the role of the sporting director. Monchi was to have attended but he is now in Italy and he sent a video to be played instead. The key points coming out were that everyone should be pulling in the same direction and that football was a business now.
