Hector Moreno joins Fazio in what could have been a Spurs defence

TRANSFER TALK

Roma have strengthened their defence for next season by signing 29-year-old (30 next January) Mexico centre-half (he has 80 full international caps scoring 2 goals) Hector Moreno from PSV Eindhoven on a four-year contract for a reported £4.4 million (€5m - AUS$7.44m - US$5.6m).

Remember him?

He was the defender we tried to sign from Espanyol only to see him break his leg at the World Cup, so we signed the now 30-year-old (31 next March) Federico Fazio from Sevilla instead. Where is he now, yes that's right, Roma.

Roma have to sell players this summer to try and get their books in order for Financial Fair Play regulations so cheap deals like this are good buys assuming they perform, as Fazio has by all accounts.

Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport report that new Zenit St Petersburg boss Roberto Mancini, the former Manchester City boss, want to buy 22-year-old (23 next June) talented Argentinian (he has 1 full international cap and 1 goal to his name) midfielder Leandro Paredes from the Italians.
