£20m attacking midfielder on the radar

TRANSFER TALK

German daily newspaper Sport Bild suggest that Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Çalhanoğlu favours a move to England or Italy. They suggest there is interest in the 23-year-old (24 next February) free-kick specialist from Tottenham , Everton and Lazio.

He is an attacking midfielder with 26 full international Turkish caps in which he has scored 8 goals. He was the first Turkish player to score against England in game number 11 between the two nations. The ever unreliable Sun report a £20 million (€22.76m - AUS$33.84m - US$25.51m) figure. The rag also suggests Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in him.

The Daily Star report that Turkish outlet Aksam suggest he has a £32.52 million (€37m - AUS$55.04m - US$41.47m) release clause, a rather strange figure.

Former England international Owen Hargreaves who spent most of his career in Germany, said on BT Sport in August 2015 that Çalhanoğlu's style of play would fit Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur.
