£17.35 million bid rejected

TRANSFER TALK

As previously reported Jean-Pierre Rivere, President of OGC Nice, does not want to lose star midfielder Jean-Michaël Seri.

The 25-year-old (26 in July) has sprung to everyone's attention this season and is the subject of interest from UEFA Champions League clubs, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Roma and interest from UEFA Europa League side Arsenal.

32 through balls
9 assists

We hold an interest in him, but if you were to quiz him I think you would find Barcelona as a preferred choice. For Barcelona he isn't their first choice according to the Spanish media, so if we seriously want him we may have to wait to see whether Barcelona want him or not.

Veratti is the top priority for the Spaniards with Seri and our own Christian Eriksen their alternatives.

“We have a wish to keep Jean-Michaël. As far as we are concerned, apart from AS Roma, who have spoken out and who have made an offer, we do not have other offers from other clubs”.

According to the press in Italy and French radio station RMC, Roma have put in a bid of £17.35 million (€20m - AUS$29.82m - US$22.51m) which was immediately rejcted with Nice reportedly looking for double that amount, not a figure we would be looking to pay I expect.
