Everton boss Ronald Koeman keeps moving the goalposts, now he has told England international (he has 22 caps, 2 goals) Ross Barkley to sign a contract in a week or go. We know the answer to that one, he wants to go, so put a sensible price on his head and he will. With only a year of his contract left he value plummets.

Try for top dollar with no contract length and he won't sign, be forced to stay and leave for free.The figures being bandied about for a player with 12 months to go are daft. The 23-year-old (24 in December) is only worth £30 million or more if he has three or more years left on his contract and he doesn't.

Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel has confirmed that the club will sign 27-year-old (28 in September) Ukrainian international (he has 60 caps, 13 goals) winger Yevhen Konoplyanka from Sevilla this summer on a permanent basis. He is the player who agree to join several clubs, one being Stoke City, only to not turn up to sign a contract. He flopped in Spain and was shipped out to Germany after a season.
