Tottenham - the class club of North London

Class they say is permanent and Tottenham Hotspur have it in North London

Arsenal came to a halt at the Tottenham buffers

Did everyone see the interview on Sky Sports with Arsene Wenger after his North London Derby defeat. He incredibly rudely walked out when the interviewer was still asking questions. But that's arsenal for you isn't it, totally lacking in any form of class, yet thinking they have class.

Couple that with Arsene Wenger whenever he was asked about a bad tackle from one of his players he would say he didn't see it. He didn't watch the game much then and interviewers don't bother to ask any more.

The two incidents are synonymous with a bottom fo the barrel club, much the way Chelsea behave in fact. Sir Alx Ferguson played the game but never sunk as regularly as these two clubs to gutter tactics. I'm delighted we have another manager who elevates us above the conduct of the Arsenal, Chelsea and the other club whose standards are in the gutter, West Ham United.

You get quality entertainment at White Hart Lane and a manager full of respect, conducting himself in a professional manner forging a great relationship with the press and a happy working environment at Tottenham.

He has the quality out quality club seeks.

  1. Wenger’s record speaks for itself but his constant whining, criticism of officials and general demeanour is now having a negative effect on his club and players. I didn’t see a single smiling face on the Arsenal bench yesterday.

  2. You have been waiting 20 years for this and you are obviously trying to make the most of it, Arsenal have been and always will be the "class" Club of London, one trophyless season above us doesn't change that, Spurs have always crowed at the slightest opportunity, nothing changes, 13 league titles to 2 sums it up really, no league title since 1961...terrible behaviour by your fans outside the ground yesterday, class? I don't think so...

    1. Class has nothing to do with where you finish and a lot more to do with how you conduct yourself sunshine.

    4. So many Gonners fail to see, or accept, that this is just the point where they've been obviously overtaken by a club with much fewer resources. The writing's been on the wall since MP joined, and even before if I'm honest.

They pretend publicly they haven't noticed yet they've been whingeing for that long about their own problems. The funny thing is they think posting on Arse forums and blogs is internal whingeing. They don't seem to appreciate the name 'web' is actually a constriction of the 'WORLD WIDE Web'. By its nature quite public really.

So, we're now at a point where two trains are heading off in opposite directions. Like a crossover just outside the station their train is going down slowly having just left the platform, but building momentum. Ours is the InterCity that wasn't stopping and is already at speed. Stand clear of the platform.

    5. I suppose we are now experiencing something of what it has been like to be a Spurs fan, however the question would be whether it will take 20 years of mediocrity to get us to the level of resentment and bitterness that Spurs fans have towards Arsenal. It would be my firm belief that Spurs will not finish above Arsenal every season for the next 20 years so we won't get to that level...which is a relief. Enjoy it while it lasts, things will change again in due course. What is all this nonsense about trains and stations? You just have a better team and manager than us at the moment, that's all, it was bound to happen eventually. If you actually manage to win something you can celebrate then, otherwise it's all a bit pathetic really.

    6. Now the tables have turned it's all too much for the classless Woolwich nomads! you can't handle it because your only trophy is finishing above us(St tottinghams Day) how pathetic and childish can you get? and now that's gone! we will always hate and resent you because you should be nowhere near North London you belong South of the river son! you are squatters from South London and always will be to us! you will never be true North London like us or have the class we have not stooping to the gutter levels your players and fans go to! i'm proud of my club, manager and fans! your club after spending untold amounts of dollar is a broken mess now with a manager that has no decency or class and the fans want him out! if he was decent and didn't slag us off and disrespect us so much over the years i would have simpathy for him but he is such a sore loser with immature reactions and never speaks the truth and is always accusing others of this and that if his side looses i hope he moves on quickly! your turning into a joke of a club with him himself being able to choose his own destiny! we have had a lot of misery over the years with you lot lording it over us for so long and now you are where we have been for a long time! Enjoy and yes i love it because you lot have have so much arrogance thinking your something special which you are not, not even close.

    7. The nonsense about trains and stations is something called metaphors. It's used in language to help people to understand something that they otherwise may struggle with. There are strong signs that the Gonners have great difficulty understanding these concepts, going by many of the comments that have been posted on the subject thus far. Hence the use of metaphors.

The other issue, of Spurs fans crowing at every opportunity, reflects another concept you may not be familiar with, bearing in mind that the last 20 years have been filled with Arse fans crowing every year - St Totteringham's Day is a clear example of this. That concept is one you may have trouble with too so I'll spell it for you :
      H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y.

Thank you for providing such a perfect example. It's so much easier for people to understand with an example available.

BTW. The difference is not limited to the better team and manager. It may be hard for you to hear but we also have a vision of the future and the intelligence and courage to follow through on that plan even when it didn't come together over night. That requires players with the correct mental attitude and strength. Not easy with a limited budget, but we're managing it. And the reason we're celebrating now is that we're looking forwards to the future, not backwards to past glories. If that were our approach then we would have to concede a very impressive history down the road. Not happy to, but honesty requires it. That isn't where our focus is now though. We're celebrating a bright future as we have the intelligence and courage to recognise that's what's on the way. I expect you're more comfortable looking backwards at this point in time. I can feel another trains metaphor coming on so I'll bid good night and sign off for now.

  3. I bet you had to look up how to spell metaphors! The point about Spurs fans crowing is that it doesn't take much, you don't even have to win anything, at least we have had a decent amount to crow about, yes you have a good side at the moment but things can change very quickly in football as you may realise...

    1. Still missing the point I see. Never mind. It'll dawn in the end.

Do I give the impression of someone who has to look up the spelling of basic and common words? I would have thought even basic intelligence would lead you to find some spelling or grammatical errors in any of my posts before leaving yourself open with such an obviously stupid comment.

I'm sure I have my faults - I'd be stupid to imagine otherwise - but trying to ridicule one of my strengths publicly just draws attention to your poor judgement. Then, I suppose you support the Arse so what should we expect.

  4. Neil you obviously forgot we have won the FA Cup twice in the last 3 seasons or doesn't that count as a trophy?

    1. Fair play but is that all? with all your resources and outlay and size of your club are you happy with a devalued FA Cup every so often? i thought your vision when you built your new stadium was to compete for the premier league and Champions League, it seems your owners are happy with top 4 and the occasional trophy! your fans seem to just be happy with finishing above us which is setting the bar low! you should be aiming to win the league and champs league thats what is funny about St Totterings day it shows how low your ambitions are if you celebrate that! we are going from strenth to strenth and it's been a long time since everyone has talked about us going for the title so we are going to enjoy it! i bet with a few astute signings and keeping the current players we have already we can win it next season where sadly your club is only going backwards i think the players are not playing for Wenger, when we have our new stadium we will be able to attract bigger players and pay the bigger wages but we are not doing to bad at the moment on limited funds.

  5. Let us et al end this debate
    Where each side doth repudiate
This tablet below, from worthy Mail showeth the proof
Tis clear the Cannon no longer sounds it’s roar
A pretentious past that leadeth to the exit door!
And in it’s place the Cockerel stands aloof
From whence it’s perch on mighty Whyte Harte Lane
It doth crow it’s mighty refrain
And, with it’s gilded spurs it doth crush
Yet one more Frenchman into the dust.

  6. Might I add that Arse's dominance over us during this period has coincided with the change in format of the European Cup, which changed to the closed shop cash cow it is now in 1992. No coincidence that with the extra cash and ability to attract better players Arse have had the run on us. I might also add that over the past 11 seasons Arse have finished one place above us on 7 occasions and 2 places above us twice. Hardly a massive difference. Our biggest achievement in recent seasons has been gate crashing the CL party to play on a more level pitch.

  7. I admit it all, Spurs have always been superior to Arsenal, you have dominated us since football began, you have a much more illustrious history, won more trophies, have more support, are more famous across the world, your many league championships and cups make our achievements pale into insignificance, yes without doubt you have always been great, and no doubt you will carry on winning everything in sight for the next 200 years....

  10. That's because we have a past, and a glorious one my friend, we too will also have a future, you are essentially glorying in some imagined utopian future world where you are the dominant force above all...we will see.

  11. Let me ask you this Carter Carter have you enjoyed this season because of your past or has your past in fact highlighted how far you've fallen. The present and future are what have make me smile all season. Does next season excite you? The prospect of your best player leaving, the manager who has overseen your recent decline probably embedded for another year at least. Whilst we have a young vibrant squad being lead by a young vibrant manager about to embark on another foray into Europes premier competition. All this whilst watching our new temple rising from the ground to ensure our future will be bright. Like I mentioned on an earlier post you keep enjoying your past and we'll carry on enjoying the now and look forward to a bright future.

  12. No argument that we are pretty poor at the moment which makes your achievement in finishing above us rather less remarkable, granted you have a very good team and manager at the moment, but this is no guarantee of amazing future success, your mocking of our recent performances shows this of course as we haven't really progressed as expected since the move to the Emirates. I just don't quite understand how you can effectively attempt to airbrush history and try to make out that Spurs have somehow been the equal of Arsenal, because facts don't lie, we have won far more and are a bigger Club without doubt. Who knows what will happen in the future, you may win the league for the next 5 years running but that's unlikely of course. it's very difficult to sustain proper success with all the money in the game, and you will have peaks and troughs like most clubs, just beware of gloating too much in your peak periods as you seem to be at the moment...you need a long period of sustained and actual trophy winning success to even get close to Arsenal.

  13. News update, Tottenham Inter City train comes off the track! 56 years and counting....

    ReplyDelete
  14. LOL. Nice try, but leave the metaphors to those that can.

No arguments with most of the rest of your recent post. The future is an unexplored country. The signs are good for us at the moment, Wet Spam result notwithstanding. Not sure I'd like to be in your shoes looking forward. Not a comfortable place.

Just remember that accusing Spurs fans of gloating really just opens you up to massive ridicule as that's what you've spent the last 20-odd years doing whenever you could. You and most other Arses. We've had to take it without bleating every five minutes. Man-up and stop whingeing. You never know - it may not last forever.

Please don't just air your hypocrisy like dirty linnen for all to see and gape at. Or do if you prefer - It ain't pretty, but you're the only loser in that game.
