Strike Jean-Michaël Seri off the list

Cote d'Ivoire and Nice midfielder Jean-Michaël Seri is the transfer talk at the moment. Nice are in negotiations with him to extend his contract.

Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Marseille are all keen, along with Everton, Leicester City, Southampton, and Arsenal. However Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo say Barcelona are also watching Seri and any player will consider their future if they come calling.

On Monday, Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere told private French radio station RMC that he#ll be at the club next season.

"Seri? Many clubs are interested. We do not want to sell him. We'll see him next year."

Seri himself revealed in an interview with Nice-Matin that he isn't interested in leaving Nice this summer.

"Leaving this summer? No. I've had a satisfying first season and now I need to confirm it. Wanting to leave when you've had a good season is not what top players do. You need to repeat it across several consecutive season. 

"There's no reason for me to think about leaving. I'm good here, and I'm enjoying myself. To leave for the sake of leaving, it doesn't interest me. The club is growing, a new centre-forward is coming and there are still many beautiful things to experience here."

He joined Nice Portuguese club Pacos de Ferreira in 2015 and is in his second season in the French league. Despite the press all getting themselves excited, there seems little prospect of him moving on.
