Sandro likely to join Atletico but transfer plans in limbo

TRANSFER TALK

Atletico Madrid officials went to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to try and get their transfer ban from FIFA overturned. At the moment, although they are agreeing personal terms with players, they can't actually sign anyone this coming window.

Alexandre Lacazette has agreed to join from French side Lyon and the reports in Spain are that Sandro Ramirez, the Malaga and ex-Barcelona srtiker, has agreed personal terms and will join them if the ban is lifted.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport is hearing the appeal, but said a verdict is not expected immediately.

Atletico and FIFA previously agreed to seek a Court of Arbitration for Sport verdict by June, before the summer trading period opens.

That is going to delay transfer plans for other clubs, if the ban is not lifted then presumably players already have their second choices sorted and those clubs know the situation as it stands. Do you ait to see if it is overturned or move on to other targets, or do both and wait for the result. It depends entirely on how much you want a player, we seem to want Sandro, but then we have been linked with quite a number of attacking midfielders, be they central or wide and quite a few who can play as attackers too.

Real Madrid has their ban halved by the Court of Arbitration for Sport so Atletico Madrid are expecting the same treatment.
