Latest on Schick, a loan option

TRANSFER TALK

The very latest Italian local news today is that Tottenham Hotspur are getting closer and closer to achieving a full-on agreement with Pavel Paska, agent of the 21-year-old (22 next January) Czech Republic international striker Patrik Schick.

News of an agreement would seem to be a little premature with confusion over translation changing the story, much like website over here claiming a deal is done when none, in fact, nothing official has been agreed.

He seems to be our number one striker target, but then he is a number of clubs number one target around Europe. Wanted by Inter Milan and Juventus, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Everton, Atletico Madrid, Marseille and Arsenal amongst others, the Italian press are suggesting we may buy him and loan him straight back for a season.

On one hand that does not sound like us, not the sort of deal we would enter into, but we bought Vincent Janssen after one season of top flight football in Holland and he has yet to adapt to the Premier League. He is still only a youngster himself, he isn't 22 until 15 June.

Could we buy him and allow him to get a second season under his belt. Would we still need to buy a striker for next season or do we see Janssen developing if he is staying as seems likely now.
