The England side at the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup will play Costa Rica in the last 16 after qualifying from their group, a group that saw Argentina eliminated.

England topped their group,  Group A, winning two games and drawing one, thanks to a 50-yard own goal by Manchester United centre-back Oluwafikayomi Oluwadamilola Tomori, a Canadian born Englishman. That was the only goal we have conceded!

We beat Argentina 3-0 with goals from Calvert-Lewin 38' Armstrong 52'
and Solanke 90+3' (pen.) at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium, Jeonju in front of 15.510 spectators. Josh Onomah played 84 minutes.

We then drew 1-1 with Guinea thanks to that own goal after Cook 53' had put us ahead in front of 5.592 spectators at the same venue.

Our third group game saw us beat host nation South Korea 1-0 thanks to a goal from Dowell 56 in front of 35,279 spectators at the Suwon World Cup Stadium, Suwon. Both Onomah and Kyle Walker-Peters played the full 90 minutes.

Should England progress they are due to meet either Mexico or Senegal in the quarter-finals, then France/Italy or Zambia/Germany in the semi-final.

Possible opponents in the final are Venezuela, Japan, South Korea, Portugal, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, USA or New Zealand.

The broadcasting rights show who has an interest in youth football and this country doesn't have any, unsurprisingly given the lack of importance we attach to the national youth teams.
