Spurs must be the unnamed club in the latest Bruma rumours

TRANSFER TALK

Plenty of rehashing of the Bruma story that occupies the Turkish press at the moment with suggestions from NTV Spor that a Premier League club have made a verbal offer of £9.18 million (€11m - AUS$15.67m - US$11.79).

NTV Spor is a TV channel producing sports-related programming 24 hours a day. Its part of the Turkish television channel NTV. The headquarter is based in Istanbul, the home city of Galatasaray.

Despite one website claiming a completed deal has been officially denied, no 'completed' deal has ever existed, a verbal agreement can by no stretch of the imagination be called a completed deal. The fact that Bruma has been forwarded a proposal from Tottenham by Galatasaray, I think it is safe to assume the verbal offer is from us. There do not appear to be others, despite plenty of talk in the press about other clubs chasing him.

He certainly wants to play in the Premier League, we know that because his agent revealed that in November when he also said he was sure a Premier League club would buy him. We asked in January and were rebuffed. The 100% increase in wages he is asking for is clearly designed to force the Turkish side to fall in line with his wishes and let him leave, having only a year left on his contract.

Sabah and Daily Sabah (English version) is a daily newspaper based in Istanbul also and it is they who printed the story of a verbal agreement between the two clubs, mistakenly reported as a 'completed' deal by some.

This is one deal I think we can call ourselves favourites in or leading the chase for.
