Luke Shaw

TRANSFER TALK

There is so much talk about Luke Shaw at the moment with Jose Mourinho not having spoken to him for over a month and lambasting him in the press over his attitude. It has been forgotten by many that Michy Batshuayi, the player we refused to pay £30 million for, has played 484 minutes less that Luke Shaw! What is his future?

Every football fan knows Southampton conned Manchester United into paying twice what he was worth, just as they did with many a player that summer. none have turned out to be anywhere near as good as their price tag and only really Adam Lallana with a change of position is producing the goods in another system.

Louis van Gaal thought he needed to improve and now Jose Mourinho thinks the same. You have to, therefore, question the player and his mentality. You have to ask is he trying to improve himself every day or is he just remaining as he is. If you remain the same and others are improving, you are in fact going backwards.

He constantly bow gets linked with Mauricio Pochettino and Everton are mentioned as wanting him. Mauricio Pochettino was asked about his situation at United and told reporters it was nothing to do with him, "Not my player, not my problem."

Louis van Gall and Jose Mourinho have a different management style than Mauricio Pochettino. perhaps Pochettino's style suits Shaw better and he'll put in the work for Pochettino that he wouldn't for Van Gaal and Mourinho. It isn't always practical to change a management style for one player, especially if it affects how the other players perceive a manager.

Will Shaw come to Spurs? Cost is a big factor and Ben Davies is another, but Davies said in an interview recently that he prefers to play at the back in a central three. Just as Pochettino changed the position of Eric Dier to accommodate Victor Wanyama, perhaps he'll change the position of Ben Davies to accommodate Luke Shaw.

That would allow Kevin Wimmer to leave without having to buy a replacement and we would acquire a player Pochettino knows well and can work with.
