Spurse could be in trouble after the international break if Kane is out

With Harry Kane picking up an injury in a game he didn't need to play in we have put our season in jeopardy. It is now fortunate we are no longer in the UEFA Europa League and if Kane is to miss games we will be needing Son Heung-min to play as a striker.

Kane left White Hart Lane yesterday on crutches and in a protective boot as a precaution and if swelling allows, will undergo a scan on his ankle to assess the damage. he twisted it, but are any of the ligaments damaged? If they are then Son Heung-min takes on a greater goal scoring responsibility.

he normally has to do a lot of travelling during the international break and needs a rest afterwards as he gets back late, but fortunately for us he is suspended and misses his countries trip to China on March 23. Son will still be named in the squad as they have a game in South Korea five days later.

Politics have entered sport again with the Chinese are being awkward and are not allowing the Korean's to fly a chartered aircraft into China. Whether Tottenham can arrange for Son to join up with the team in Korea and miss the trip to China altogether we'll have to wait and see, otherwise we could have problems away to Burnley on April 1st.

  1. Time will tell Clive.
We do have three other players who have contributed greatly to the ‘goal cause’.
I see this (HK’s injury) as another opportunity for other players to step up to the plate.
It’s a great opportunity to examine the strength of the squad.
What I don’t want to see is Poch reverting to 4-2-3-1.

  2. I agree with hibberni, a chance for others to step up. I would have also played Kane on the weekend given a week before the next fixture. Getting into a routine, is more important than trying to prevent for injury (if on a weekly schedule)
