Spurs target Bernardeschi refuses £85.66m buyout clause in new contract

Italian newspaper La Nazione reports that Tottenham Hotspur target, 23-year-old (24 next February) Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi, has refused the Italian club’s efforts to insert a £85.66 million (€100m - AUS$139.56m - US$106.91m) release clause into his new €2.5 million a year contract offer. The club remain optimistic he will eventually sign.

Bernardeschi is thought to be being watched by clubs all over Europe including Spanish giants Barcelona, German giants Bayern Munich, Italians AC Milan, Chelsea and French giants Paris Saint-Germain, while Tuttosport suggest Juventus will step up their pursuit of Bernardeschi following the injury to Marko Pjaca.

The Italian international, he has 7 caps, is a left-footed inverted right winger sponsored by Nike under contract until 2019. This season he has scored 10 goals with a further 4 assists in 25 Serie A games. In addition he has scored 2 goals and a further 1 assist in 8 UEFA Europa League games and 1 goal in Coppa Italia games.
