spurs linked winger wants the right move

TRANSFER TALK

Spurs have long been linked with 24-year-old (25 in May) Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal, as have Arsenal and West Ham United.

The Algerian is a free agent in the summer with his contract coming to an end so naturally plenty of clubs are looking to sign him for nothing but the signing on fee that free agents expect. Lyon are a side who have to bring players through the academy and he is another product, although his goal output isn't hat impressive this season. His two goals and four assists have come in 19 league games, in all he has seven assists from 27 games. Last season he had eight goals and eight assists from 29 Ligue 1 games.

He was asked by Gazzetta dello Sport about his future and replied that he wanted an ambitious project and he is also known to want European football with Lyon currently engaged in the UEFA Europa League, which rather rules out West Ham.

“No, but the proposals are being studied. I want an ambitious project, in France or abroad. Maybe I have more affinity with Spanish football, but I do not rule out the Premier League or Serie A, where my brother Kader played, who now takes care of all these things.”

The fact that we have spoken to his brother about our interest doesn't mean a great deal. It is a question of sounding him out t see if our project interests him, what he is after in terms of wages and playing time as well as how we see our possible future.
