Repeated news of Spurs interest from Italy

TRANSFER TALK

For what seems like an eternity the Italian press have suggested that Spurs are about to buy 24-year-old (25 in November Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozović. Perhaps that is because they want Erik lLmela to return to Serie A.

Yet again we have to endure an article suggesting we are going to make a move this summer, the same move we have been supposedly making since his loan move from Dynamo Zagreb to Inter Milan automatically became permanent on 1 June 2016.

At that time he wanted a wage increase and Inter were reportedly trying to sell him as a result, we have been suggested as the destination for the last two windows, now for a third. Yet again it is suggested we are going to throw money to get him, this time £21.84 million (€25m - AUS$34.84m - US$26.80m). He signed for them for £4.25 million (€4.86m - AUS$6.78m - US$5.22m) and Chelsea apparently had a £21 million bid accepted on transfer deadline day last summer.

He plays as a central or attacking midfielder, although can play all across the midfield as he did last season and has hit 3 goals with 4 assists in 16 Serie A games this season.

Just like both previous windows, a move looks highly unlikely with the emergence of Harry Winks, unless we are looking to use him in the wide positions or are in danger of losing Mousa Dembele. he doesn't strike as a back-up for Victor Wanyama.

Inter are interested in Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela, both men we use in wide positions, so we have options if we were to do a deal and see him in their roles. It doesn't have the feel of a deal about it though.
